Perfect… juicy burrito with succulent meat and the right level of spice(I went for habanero). My favourite is the fajita carnitas. I also get the chicken quesadilla with gorilla sauce. The spice is just right, never overpowering. My favourite delivery service in Amsterdam!

After at least 6 check ins here(and more orders I’m sure)! This place deserves an upgrade to 5-stars. It is our go to takeaway treat(& I don’t make a bad beef burrito myself) because it ticks all the boxes for consistent good quality, taste, value of money, generous portions, quick delivery and pleasant service. Next time, we will venture out to the restaurant to tell them we are fans face to face ;)

A pity no zero available. We were 3 couples tonight, from each me my order didn’t get served, even after paying the order. After 30 minutes an employee come and gave the justification that ‘you didn’t order from me, but from my colleague from left’. When I went to complain to the cashier, a lot of the delivery people got around and I got blamed that I was shouting. So I had no food, and blamed that I was shouted. Some delivery boys even removed they helmets and got ready for physical altercation. In the end I got a formal apology from everyone involved, even a refund from the food I didn’t eat. As I was still blamed for ‘shouting’, I didn’t accept it and I will never return to this place. Rude people, that have no idea about service.

I can’t even describe how disappointed I am about the service I got at this place. The way employees of this«restaurant» treat their customers is just outrageous. Expecting to have some good Mexican food me and my friends(5 of us in general) made an order. After 40 minutes the employee of Tomatillo realised that the order didn’t proceed and we basically wasted our time there. Instead of apologising, the manager told us: «we just have too many orders and that it happens». Moreover, he was extremely rude, screwed our evening and left us hungry :(Will never ever go there again:(

Ordered delivery for dinner with some colleagues. The delivery was timely and we were really happy with the food. The burritos with chicken and steak were delicious and the drinks(liquados) were also amazing and refreshing. The portions are big, you can easily share a burrito between two.

Really, I’d give it 3.5 stars. And I plan to try their breakfast burrito, which could easily move them into 4 star territory. I had the chicken burrito. It comes with black beans, cheese, rice and salsa. I requested no rice or cheese, and for a lot of salsa and extra guacamole to be added. I’d like to point out that they were very friendly and gave no attitude about my special requests. My burrito was huge, with a ton of beans and almost no chicken or salsa, and no guacamole. I went back and requested salsa and guac, which made it better, but it was basically a giant black bean burrito. I bet that for people who get and like rice and cheese this is pretty good. My bf got the fajita burrito which he liked, and he noticed someone else had it grilled which would have made it better, and which he will do next time. The salsas were good and fresh, as were the juice and guac. The staff was friendly. Better than a lot of Ams Mex food. I’ll give a final report after I try the breakfast burrito.

So I’m from California and grew up on Mexican food and have spent quite a bit of time around Tex-Mex as well. If you don’t know what Mexican food is, you’ll think this place is great. If you do know Mexican food, you will be disappointed. But I will say, this is probably the best burrito in town alongside salsa shop. 3 stars as I would really love something a bit more authentic and because the carnitas here are cut up into little cubes rather than pulled.

This place definitely hit the spot! Got the chicken ranchero burrito spicy and it was amazing! All fresh ingredients. I really like how it’s more of a local spot rather then a bunch of tourist.

I wrote this review with a heavy heart. Nothing comes close to «real» tex mex– do not let the other reviews fool you. But this is the most acceptable burritos in Amsterdam, and they are delicious in their own way way– just do not expect real Texmex. The most disappointing part is the salsas. The ingredients are fresh, but sadly even the«hot» salsas seem to be watered down for the local taste. This hits the spot if you’re craving burrito, but if you’re craving spicy you might be a bit disappointed.

I was pleased to discover that they knew what gluten is and how it could easily be avoided there. I opted for chicken tostadas on corn tortillas. For about a tenner, I got two hearty tostadas topped with black beans, chicken, cheese and a dressed lettuce on top. It came with a side of tortilla chips and a choice of salsa — pico de gallo for me. It was a pretty big meal! The beans tasted faintly of cinnamon, which a bit odd. I ended up knocking the lettuce off the two tostadas, topping it with the salsa and eating it as a salad on the side. The food probably merits three stars, but the fourth is for helping to assure I had a safe, gluten free meal. Also, it’s just around the corner from Vondelpark.

Hands down– best burritos in town! Maybe even the only! It might not stand to your dinner out expectations but it will blow your mind as a take away! Don’t hesitate, order a burrito from them!!!

I’m an expat from Vancouver, Canada. I ordered the Tostada biologische kip + chipotle salsa. It was quite tasty. It was a delivery and the food wasn’t too hot or cold, it was very fresh. The Burrito tomatille style(vegetarisch) + pico de gallo was massive. It came in a box with melted cheese on top. It was like 2 meals. And the extra guacamole is really small. Both meals were definitely not precooked or out of the box. Best part was that it’s’ easy on the stomach, which is rare for Mexican food.

Was really nice to have some real tortilla chips and a real tortilla. The grocery store bought tortillas and chips are garbage. Other than that, the food was alright. The salsas were disappointing and tasted like they came pre-made out of a jar. I had the carnitas burrito and it was a nice touch with the added cinnamon and the salmon soft taco was aright too but nothing to write home about. Maybe because we had delivery and although it came quickly, it was all pretty cold when it arrived so we weren’t all that impressed. Maybe better when served fresh at the restaurant.

As a former US West Coast resident, I am so very thankful for this restaurant. They enable me to get my bi-monthly burrito fix and they use fresh ingredients and organic meat. Their prices are a little steep, but their burritos are HUGE. I can only finish a whole one if I’ve skipped meals earlier in the day. I love that their habanero sauce has some nice heat to it too. We usually order delivery since there’s not much seating inside their tiny space, but I have been fortunate in the past to get a table a few times.

While Taco Shop is my Mexican food comfort stop, this is where I go for fancy gourmet Mexican food. Or when the Taco Shop is closed. The burrito I ordered was a perfect little package that still smelled of the grill and had nice little grill marks *on the outside* of the burrito. Whatevs, it was weird, but it smelled great. It was smaller than a Taco Shop burrito, so I could actually finish it in one sitting, instead of having to save 20% for later or risk my stomach exploding.(It’s a dilemma for me every time!) The flavors are more complex than a Taco Shop burrito — it was salty! it was sweet! it was savory!, but the ingredients list is much shorter and lacks obvious veggies. And rice and beans in the burrito come by default. It’s annoying to have filler like that in a burrito, but it still tasted great. The downsides — their«large guacamole» is a small cup of guacamole. How can that be a large?! Does the small come in a thimble?! I also ordered extra guacamole in the burrito itself and instead of getting a nice guacamole ooze coming out of the top of the burrito while eating, I detected a slight green tint in the burrito occasionally. I was so sad. I *need* guacamole. Why do you people torment me so?! Also, I ordered salsa in the burrito and hardly tasted it, and had no visual confirmation of its existence. It is possible that it blended in with the other flavors, however. And it’s a minor point, but the tortilla chips were cold, and the Taco Shop delivers warm toasty tortilla chips. The Taco Shop also delivers to my zip code, whereas this place does not. But when the Taco Shop breaks my heart by being closed, this place is a decent substitute.

EXCELLENT. wow. i’ve been dying in this culinary wasteland that’s the netherlands, but i’m happy i found this place. +5 stars for the food, but –1 star for the lack of seating. i had to take my food to go. also, the portion sizes for meat were kinda paltry, but i think that’s a problem i’ve had at a lot of restaurants out here. too bad, the flank steak was prepared pretty well.

I think the other reviews pretty much sum up how good it is. I like this place because I really get the sense of how fresh most the ingredients are which you see in the sauces and salsas. I would love to see some pico de gallo and guac in the dishes though. Anyway my tips: Liquados: try the mango one! I could guzzle that by the liter. Not too sweet, just right. Tostada veggie: when I first ordered this I did a triple take — what is this pile o lettuce?! What is this salad? I was puzzled and maybe even a bit angry, but I have to say after trying it, it became my green eggs and ham and now I order it every time. It’s delish! Burrito ranchero: not a big burrito fan in general so my main tip here is sauce-wise watch out if you’re sensitive to spicy. I usually go for medium, but that was still way hot for me. To be safe step down and then you can always add. Huevos rancheros: this is really good. Wish it had pico and guac though. The bottom tostada is what makes it with a great crunch. Fish taco: I was super excited to see this on the menu, but I have to say I was disappointed by the actual fish. Maybe it was the day, but tasted bland and overlooked and I would guess that it was previously frozen salmon. However, when you eat it with all the lettuce, sauce and taco it’s all easily disguised as ok. Still, you should be able to appreciate the components that make the whole and I can’t say that fish gets any stars. Overall though, this is still our go-to joint and anytime we’re nearby the park we always hit it up!

Best burritos in Amsterdam BYFAR! Very high end, inventive, thoughtful and not grease, for the educated foodie. This is not your typical tex-mex greaser with a heart attack in a burrito, so if you’re expecting that you will be disappointed. But, if you have any taste for quality you will appreciate the extreme level of thought and attention put into every step of the burrito making process, from all organic meats and(for the most part) ingredients to the extra nutritious rice, the authentic fresh tortillas and the magical and inventive salsas of the month. The chef clearly loves what he does and the passion is evidenced by the extremely loyal and quickly expanding fan base. I’ve been going there since it opened for my burrito fix and still can’t get enough.

If there is a better burrito in Amsterdam, I haven’t found it yet, and I have really tried them all. The menu expands beyond burritos but I can’t quite get past my fixation for them yet. I have tried a taco, salad and some guacamole though. As far as the burrito goes, there is a good balance of veggies, beans, cheese and meat of course if you’d have it. I can’t complain about the flavor and always have a smile on my face once I take a bite. It is almost becoming a weekly obsession. It seems the menu at the restaurant has more than the website menu does. They also have delivery service available which I have used. I do have a complaint about the delivery though because they have forgot some small things twice now. I called once and the next time they gave me free dessert so still have good customer service. This is the best in my opinion so give it a try by either heading in or ordering out.
