Ate here today before our flight home, last treat and I was very disappointed! Food was very poor, the chicken was like plastic and chewy, I didn’t eat the food at i told the waitress it was really bad… not as described, they still charged me! Side a chips are 10 euro ! Staff were very nice and friendly hence the stars love this city

Service was slow despite the place being relatively empty. Food was average. Decent amount of beers on tap. The place was decorated for Halloween, which was a nice touch considering it’s not celebrated in Amsterdam very widely.

Food was not bad, but could certainly be better. Risotto wasn’t good and the Crème Brûlée came straight from the fridge.

We came for drinks on a Saturday around 11:30 pm, and the bar was half-full. I loved the purple bull and the draped curtains decorating the high ceiling. The bar was great about dimming the lights as the night progressed, and the ambiance felt incredibly cozy without feeling dark. This is the kind of bar where you can spend the night away in conversation without realizing how much time has passed. Drinks are slightly more expensive than a local pub, but worth it for what you get.

After a great movie, we have chosen the Tara to have a small bite which is near by located to the Pathe de Munt. The sun was still there, so we found a great spot on the terrace! The waitress directly welcomed us and showed us the menu. I have been to the Tara once before for the drinks, which was good I must say. But today, I think they had a really off day where there were too many customers and too few of staff. I ordered a small burger with fries for 8,50 euro’s and we waited almost 35 minutes. When I took a bite of the burger, I directly tasted it was very burned — which was really *un-eatable*. We directly showed it to another waitress and she directly felt offended and asked«do you want a new burger?» instead of apologizing first. After waiting 25 minutes for the new burger, we still haven’t received the new burger… We decided to cancel the burger, because it really took a long time, while we saw another table was served with 2 burgers after our complaint. Next to this, they didn’t take our dishes with the 2 burned burgers to the kitchen– so all the customers could have seen it when they walked by which was not a good thinking of them. Conclusion: Please don’t go for the food here, but have a beer or some other drinks instead. Also don’t go for a glass of red wine, because you don’t get lots of red wine for what you pay for.

Such potential. Sigh. Great place. Excellent location, but fell short for me. The food was eh. I hate when that happens. You come to a place and it seems awesome… you’re looking around, anticipating your meal, happy to be here and then your food arrives. Sigh. It looks ok, ya know, not bad but not wow. Just eh. Then you taste it. Same thing. Eh. Shoulder shrug. It’s not horrible where I don’t want to eat it, but I’m not enjoying it. That was my experience here. The veggie lasagna was nasty. I didn’t even want to eat it. The lamb stew washer like a lamb soup. Just wasn’t what it could be. Service was ok. Prices were average. But all in all, I wouldnt come back here. The street food in this town is better. However, the bar area was cool. Unless you have something to do here, I’d pass.

Huge venue, great bar and ambiance but the outside was pretty crappy. The chairs and furniture outside was dilapidated and was the equivalent to flea market second hand yard furniture. If they only spend as much detail to the inside to the outside, it would be better but maybe it’s because Amsterdam is not known for their outside patio weather. The bar service is quick but unfriendly(typical Dutch service). The bartenders have to run to another bar to get certain beers on tap. This place is near the Rokin and Spui tram stop.

After a really bad experience because of a bad performance of the kitchen and an inappropriate act of the waiter a few months ago, we gave this restaurant a new chance, because the food and service here are usually really good. The oysters are a nice thing to try, fresh out of the aquarium, coming in a big bowl filled with ice. They are good together with the vinaigrette, but wouldn’t become my favorite seafood. As main dish a good XXL Burger and really delicous beef tartar. So finally a nice location, good service and good food.

It is not another bar… mostly ex pat crowd… as it is supposed to be an Irish Pub. Pleasant service and nice atmosphere. Music is a bit loud but hey. it is a bar… full drinks list but you want to get there to drink beer… ohh. you can also have a bite if you want :) It is very central and has two entrances on both sides… a lot of restaurants and other places around.

Great bar, great bartenders, and good crowd. Arriving in Amsterdam too early in the morn, my co-worker and I took a nap, ate lunch, and then decided to do what healthy American adults do when bored. We drank. Having been before, the co-worker recommended we go again and I quickly complied when he said, «cold beer.» We arrived to be greeted by Katja, a beautiful brunette(I mean, seriously, she was stunning to look at and fun to talk to), who allowed us to sample the local brew, Jupiler, and then order our own drinks. While I expected the tab to be ginormous(this is Europe after all), it was only 43 Euros so we left a 50 for the drinks and tip. It did start to pick up a bit around 18.00u so if you get there beforehand, you should be able to get a bar stool or choice of seat on the floor.

This bar looks SICK. With that said, there weren’t very many people in it. I don’t know if it’s because it’s located on a side street, or if it was just too late, but the atmosphere was too mellow for me. By the time I happily stumbled into this place, they already closed down the bar and only sold beer by the time we got there. NO! No to be super picky, but isn’t this Amsterdam? Shouldn’t all bars be open at least until 4 am or something? We even came on a weekend so they really should work harder to get all of us drunk. Otherwise, the bar has really cool décor and I’ll attach some pics.

We were around the center and wanted to have some beers and some of us some wine. One of our friends is a local so he took us to this place. Nice ambiance, good service and they have a sort of croquetas that were really really but really good. hahahaha my only BUT was that they didnt have Glühwein! how come??? that would be my only complain, other than that it is a good place for groups
