No… just no. The location is convienet as it’s right next to the red light district and close to the train but I’m sure you can find a better place with that same bit.
It’s dirty. The place really needs some love and the layout of the room is ridiculous. I’m in and 8 bed room and it’s tiny! The beds are crammed in such a way that the stranger in the bunk against mines feet extend into my bed… And people keep just leaving piles of their crap in the middle of the floor it’s gross! The whole place just has a sketchy vibe about it. It’s also a bar so weird old men wander in and out.
Normally when I book a mixed dorm
There’s one or two women thrown as well, mixed. This time it seems to just be me and weird dirty guys. It just seems off.
Also for our dorm there is only one single bathroom which is a shower and bathroom in one for the whole dorm. While it’s a nice little bathroom it’s not at all practical as no one can use the bathroom if someone’s showering and visa versa.
The staff is hit or miss and rather unhelpful in general. The whole place just feels grungy and dirty.
All I can say is never again. I would not recommend this place to my friends let alone strangers.

Near the central station and in the middle of the red district of Amsterdam. That are the good points. I went there in spring 2010 for a short week with 2 friends. We had booked a normal 4beds room. We checked in and went in our room. It was dirty. There were no direct sunlight because the only small window had view in a 4sqm ventilation court from which a disgusting smell came.
The door of the bathroom had a 3 cm gap at the bottom so that you could hear and smell everything from the dirty bathroom. This door was exactly between the beds as a consequence that your head was 10 cm away from the door! We did spend a night in this room but asked for another one with a proper window the next day because we could hardly sleep! It seemed to be so complicated to change our booking. Two of the tenants had to be there. They argued and they tried to fool us. In the end we paid almost double the price for the new room which was indeed better. Really bad experience!
