This place is wonderful! Really conveniently located in the heart of Amsterdam with public transport right across the street. The room we stayed in was comfortable and clean and the kitchen was well stocked. We really enjoyed chilling on our balcony and watching the chickens in the back yard. The owner of the establishment is really friendly and brought us flowers. Highly recommend this bed and breakfast as a convenient and restful place to stay.

I absolutely LOVED this place. It has charm and is tucked far enough away that it’s quiet but you can still walk perhaps 20 minutes and be at the train station. If you enjoy walking to see the sights, this is a great place to stay. The owner, Karel, is incredibly nice and stocks his fridge with fresh cheeses, eggs, and drinks for you to make breakfast daily. Yes, you make your own breakfast so it’s not a traditional B&B in that sense, but you can also use the kitchen to cook your own meals at night or reheat a meal. What really drew me to this place, however, is where the name comes from. Karel is a collector of all sorts of antiques, from dolls to perfume bottles to books to shot glasses. Every nook and cranny is on display with his finds. If you love vintage, this place is absolutely for you. Karel also owns some chickens out back which did crow in the morning, so if that bothers you request the room at the front of the house. I was in the back room so I could hear them, but it was never so loud as to wake me up. The chickens actually supply the eggs in the fridge if they’ve laid any recently, so that’s always a plus. Fresh eggs!
