I would not recommend this place to anyone. Overpriced, slow service, and horrible breakfast experience. Staff forgot our breakfast order, she came by 15minutes later, and said she didn’t put it in the system, and had to retake our orders again… needless to say tables next to us that arrived later, got their food first. Staff need some sense of urgency to look after the customers. We asked for milk with our coffee, and after 10min I had to go to the counter to remind them again. By the milk arrive, we’ve already finished our coffee. Everything needs to be reminded with the staff here, and OH. So. Slow… Take your money elsewhere, this is a waste of your time in Amsterdam.

My recommendation would be to take your money somewhere else. Staff working there don’t really look like they know what they are doing. Waitresses look confused and are unable to provide a service. While we could clearly see 4 tables available and no one else queuing, we had to wait for over 20 minutes to get seated. In the end we decided to leave and go somewhere else.

I’m going with 4 stars simply because their smoothies are delicious! The café is really nice and cosy, a great place to sit for a catch up. Other reviews stated their food is priced quite high and I would agree. 10 € for pancakes is rather steep but they do look great. Our smoothies were tasty. Although they are premade in jugs so not freshly blended which would have been nicer I think. Service was friendly but not speedy — typical for Amsterdam though I guess.

I wanted pancakes and found this spot. Love the décor. Has a nice flow to it with stadium seats at the back so you had an interesting vantage. Service was not that attentive but the food was solid. The ricotta pancakes were fluffy. Love the honey butter too much. The syrup was not genuine maple syrup which would of made it much better. Overall– like it.

Being a huge fan of movies, I had to try out this place, The Breakfast Club! When I first arrived it was a bit crowded and no one seemed to care that we had arrived. After gaining someone’s attention, we were seated and I was already a little bummed with the lack of service. I ordered a delicious sounding omelette and a latte. Like all European eateries, my latte was small but very good. To make up for the small latte though came a HUGE omelette. And I mean huge, even huge for American standards! ;) I really have no complaints about the omelette it wasn’t amazing but was tasty. Cool name! Decent food.

Nice place but nothing too special. I had pancakes with fruit and they were really good but I had to wait to be served for a really long time… I had to stand up and order because no one come to our table, so not really happy in the end! Service matters :)

Best pancakes in the city, by far. It’s not Dutch style, it’s proper international amazingness, with maple syrup, not that gross molasses stuff that is being passed in this city as «pancake syrup». The Brooklyn special is incredible, but for me too much, so I usually opt for the buttermilk pancakes, and seriously, I sit there for a moment after I have finished genuinely upset that it’s over. The perfect Sunday stop. Oh, and the staff are exceptionally lovely.

With this one, I am going to go against the(review) flow, and will give it 4 stars. I was doubting between 3 or 4, but went for 4 in the end, because that is what reflected my experience today. My very good friend and I went for a quick breakfast before we drove for the airport. I have been wanting to visit this place since they opened. But as we walked in today, I got a bit nervous. I have seen the rather unfavourable reviews, so I really hoped my friend’s last meal on her trip would bot turn out to be a debacle. To my pleasant surprise, however, we had nothing to complain about. We each had 2 cappuccinos and the buttermilk pancakes with fresh fruit. The pancakes were delicious, and the fruit was indeed fresh. The presentation was also much nicer than I have seen on previous photos here on Unilocal. Also the cappuccinos were delectable. Our bill was 15 euro each, which I think is normal for what we had(if compared with other brunch places in Amsterdam). Maybe we had a good day, maybe it was great because it was not too busy as it was Wednesday morning. If I feel the same way in the future, depends on how my future visits play out. In conclusion, my experience was great and as I am biased towards American-style pancakes, my vote was swayed towards 4 stars.

I wanted to like this place –the name sets up great expectations but our visit disappointed. The café has a great corner location and nice, comfortable albeit generic interior. With ”Breakfast Club” as a name it should be the best spot in town but was distinctly average –especially for the price which at 16 euro was way to much for the quality. Coffee — the espresso was good while their milky coffees(flat whites) were weak with poorly made milk. They use lot 61 beans which are great so I’m guessing its down to the right training… The ricotta pancakes had a nice flavour but were undercooked. The London breakfast had un– toasted bread, generic tasting beans and only fried eggs. The sausages were good. All in all we were happy to see another breakfast option in the city but the quality is low for the price. The service was on-par for Amsterdam(slow and little attention) Its new so maybe they will get over their teething problems…
