My love and respect for Taco Mundo has died after tonight. I ordered a Chicken Burrito, Jalapeño Cheddar Burger and a Classic Taco(crispy). Let’s start with the least nasty one: The Chicken Burrito was«ok», nothing special… but definitely not how a burrito should taste and feel like. After that I unwrapped the Classic Taco(I chose the crispy one on purpose because I really couldn’t imagine that it would actually be delivered still crispy), and of course, it fell apart and was soft/spongy, it tasted bad. Now, the cheddar burger was absolutely insane… when I saw it I could not believe my eyes. I know that some food might be bad in getting delivered and it’s best to eat it as soon as you make it, but wow… this burger looked like it was shipped through a battlefield. I immediately called Taco Mundo and asked for the manager, I had a 10 min long conversation with her. She completely understood my point(and not just to please me). So many food companies nowadays truly don’t give a sh#t about the respect that the food deserves and especially their customers. On the Taco Mundo bag it says: FRESHMADEMEX!!! Are you kidding me? She will pass this on to her regional manager and he will call me back within 24 hours. This is not about the money, nor is it about me having a bad food experience, but seriously… this is about a principle! These Marketing blabla about how these companies love and respect their ingredients and deliver quality food. I hope many people will stop being lazy, take 10 min of their time and show their honest opinion towards these chains. Because without us providing REAL and HARD feedback, these companies will NEVER change. Period.

One star for the way they package their food. It is a take away shop, but you can also eat(4 places) at the window. My food was really bad. The taco beef had almost no beef and a lot of tastless iceberg lettuce. The enchilada was swimming in cheese and almost no chicken in it. The quesidillas where ok, but nothing more than that. Something positive? Yes, the food was hot! I will not return to this shop again.

I really like Taco Mundo’s mexican food. When I don’t feel like cooking I sometimes order food here and I always like what I get. The service is excellent and I never have to wait long(although they are also very close to my home so it’s logical they are fast of course.) Prices are fine(even though my opinion is that almost every take-away etc is expensive these days).

This is the Taco Bell of Amsterdam. If you want baseball stadium nachos, complete with that delicious fake cheese substance that stays liquid at room temperature, this is the place to get it. Unfortunately the nachos only come with cheese, onions and peppers, so if you want nachos with all the fixins you have to order the guac, sour cream and salsa separately. Paying extra for each of the nacho ingredients makes the whole thing cost around 10 euros, but if you need that Taco Bell nacho fix, this really hits the spot. Their enchiladas are done right(i.e. drowning in cheese), and their tacos are good and come with all the ingredients a taco should come with, unlike their nachos. I would recommend ordering a side of guacamole no matter what you get, because it is good enough to eat with your fingers and reminds me of the stuff I used to get at Whole Foods. Finally, if you like the sweet stuff, they have a good selection of fruit juices, a few pastries and haagen dazs ice cream, in mini and full size containers. :)

The food here isn’t the anglo version of mexican or tex-mex, so if that’s the flavor profile you are looking for, you might be a little disappointed. The portions are generous and the prices are moderate. They deliver, which is a big plus. They aren’t open for lunch, which is a surprise/disappointment. All-in-all, it’s ok.
