Salvatorica is fantastic. We found this wonderful little hole-in-the-wall because it was near the B&B my parents were staying at, so we wandered in for lunch. There are several tables now, with a lovely sunny ambiance, and the pasta was delicious and freshly-made. My mother and I got the ravioli, which was delicious, but my father’s pasta with roasted tomato and eggplant was the absolute winner – so flavorful and perfectly cooked. This is one of my new Amsterdam favorites.

What a find! I noticed this little ravioli spot while walking near westerstraat. There is a table there if you want to eat in the same room as the kitchen, but I took away frozen homemade ravioli — this place is seriously legit. 7 – 10 euros for two servings of different flavored, delicious ravioli. We had the ricotta spinach and the fennel ones, and both were delicious. It is a special little place, nothing fancy. but you can taste the love in these authentic little pillows of deliciousness.

Happened upon this hidden gem, a beautiful ravioli kitchen manned by Roberto, a transplant from Sardegna who cranks out fresh, homemade ravioli before your very eyes. While you need a kitchen to prepare the ravioli(you can buy fresh or frozen), even having the chance to watch this master at work is a pleasure. Luckily, the apartment I rented had a kitchen, so I got a hefty serving of fresh ravioli con asparagi e ricotta(ravioli with asparagus and ricotta), then ran to the apartment and cooked them right up. Topped them with some olive tapenade that I’d gotten at Saturday’s Farmers’ Market, and stuffed my face silly. I will say that since I speak Italian my experience at the shop was extraordinary; but even if you stand and watch, with your mouth wide open — and no words coming out — you’ll leave quite happy. Grazie mille, Roberto!
