Great place — very friendly service and good sized portions. Food is tasty and spicy does mean spicy! The takeout section is next door — again, portions are good sized. And they will warm it up for you if you want. The only thing I noticed is that although closing time is 22:00, they sometimes close earlier (maybe when business is slow?). Otherwise, it’s a great little neighborhood place and has some of the best Thai in town!

First off, service at this restaurant is pretty fantastic. Everyone is so friendly and so helpful. We were so impressed with their service.
And of course, the food was delicious too! I’m from Los Angeles were there is a ton of Thai food and I’m Thai so I know my Thai food and their food was very delicious and very flavorful. Very authentic and made with love.

I’m from the states and this is some of the best Thai I’ve had in awhile. The quality of the ingredients was apparent by how ‘clean’ the flavors tasted. I gobbled my whole plate down; it was some kind of red curry with chicken. The owner seems in the know of the thai restaurant circuit; I told her I lived near Portland and she was telling me the best food cart to go check out. Pretty cool.

We’ve gotten take out here a few times and dined in with a large group one other time (make reservations, this place gets packed!) — the space itself is cozy with some funky wall décor. The portions are massive and the spice level was as advertised (none of that 3 chili denoted on some menus in Amsterdam, only to be greeted with a not-​even-​the-​slightest-​bit-​spicy dish — my friend was legitimately sweating into his dish!) but the food was lacking in depth nonetheless. The noodles were dry and bland and the curry dishes were just missing… something? My guess is the coconut milk or something else which usually makes these dishes heartier. And so my quest for the best Thai food in Amsterdam continues…
Note: Don’t even attempt to order the recommended wine that they claim «goes well with Thai dishes» — I wish I could remember what it was called, but it was like drinking pure lychee syrup, WAY too sweet!

Very authentic Thai food. Husband ordered Thai beef fry and I ordered seafood noodle. Both very yummy and spicy! I wished they offered more Asian drinks though. The store is small with nice décor.

Amazing Thai food!
We got the red curry, green curry, pad Thai, and pad see ew (not on menu). Would recommend all 4! My family loves Thai food so much and this palace was one of the best we’ve ever had. Place was small, clean, and very packed. Definitely recommend it.

After a while not eating here after a not so good evening a decided to give this place another shot a to be very honest I’m very glad I did.
I had the seafood spring rolls, the fish cakes and a red curry and it was, very, very good.
The service was spot on and friendly and everything went very smoothly.
If anything, the only part of my dinner I didn’t like was how close the other table was, but this is not necessarily a bad things as it adds to the coziness and friendliness of the experience!

Auf der Suche nach einem guten Thai Restaurant in Amsterdam haben wir das «Rakang Thai» gefunden. Hier jedoch einen Platz ohne Reservierung zu ergattern ist so gut wie unmöglich daher empfiehlt es sich rechtzeitig davor zu reservieren. Der Grund warum des Restaurant so gut besucht ist merkt man schon bei der Vorspeise: der Geschmack ist einfach 1A. Schon allein dass die Krupuk selbst gemacht und schön gelbgold kross sind, anstatt die üblichen weißen aus der Packung, spricht für sich. Auch der Papaya Salat überzeugte, wenn auch er leider ein klein wenig zu scharf war.
Alles in allem ein echter Geheimtipp, der allerdings leider auch ein bisschen arg teuer ist. Daher gibt es leider einen Punkt abzug.

We walked passed looking for ideas and after considering a few well reviewed restaurants we walked in and although busy they found a table for us. What a find. Friendly and hard working staff. The place remained busy and a table was filled as soon as the previous patrons vacated, clearly a good sign to the locals and visitor. The food was excellent and we find the spicy levels perfect. Thank you, it was a very good experience and highly recommended.

Tremendous Thai food. A small family-​owned restaurant, this spot delighted our taste buds. My partner and I enjoyed dinner here on a Sunday evening (green chicken curry was terrific), paying about € 17 for an entrée. Great and attentive service with a smile. Go! You won’t be disappointed.

I have eat the best thai food of my life. I think the best thai restaurant of berlin what i know is not so good. The price is very high but i think for this quality its okay. The staffs are very user-​experinced, helpfull and friendly. I will come back when i do a next trip to Amsterdam.

Tried this place on my friends suggestion and really enjoyed it. The restaurant is very charming and the staff were as nice as can be. We sat outside and it was a beautiful evening. The food was very good. Tried the Thai Gold bags and the chicken Satay. For dinner we shared a green curry chicken and Pad Thai. Both dishes were excellent. the green curry had a nice kick to it and the Pad Thai was very tasty. it’s not inexpensive, but worth the money.

Absolutely love this place! Was suggested by a friend of mine and have to say that is my favorite Thai restaurant in Amsterdam. The restaurant itself is small and popular so make sure to make a reservation.
