Pizzeria La Piazza

As a family of three, we ordered two thin crust pies. A «Pollo» pie which consisted of chicken, cheese, and onions, and a «La Pizza Especiale» w/​o beef which is essentially like a supreme pizza in America (ham, salami, bell peppers, olives). Keep in mind these pies are intended for one person and they cost like 11.50−12.50 Euro. so that’s like 14 – 15 US dollars for brick oven thin crust pizza (kinda expensive). And in Europe generally speaking, they don’t offer tap water (have to buy bottled water which is also expensive). So you have to get some kind of other drinks as bottled water is about the same price as juice, soft drinks, or alcoholic beverages. It was my first alcoholic drink in Europe despite it being my third time vacationing there. A small Heineken (THE Dutch beer to get as the museum is close-​by) is what I got. We tried being a little smart about it and shared the two pies among the three of us. And it can work if you want it to. Overall, the chicken pie was delicious because it reminded me of a shoarma/​chicken tikka masala pizza. They are light on the marinara sauce which is good for people who deal with stomach acidity/​allergic tomatos or what not. I recommend it for people but optimize what you get. In Europe, dinner can be super expensive but budget it to 10 Euro a person (30 Euro was common for lunch and dinner for my family). If you share these pies well, you shouldn’t feel hungry though there are exceptions haha!

Sehr freundliche schnelle Bedienung. Toiletten eher meiden.

Very simple menu and restaurant. Service fast and friendly. Food is just all right but it did its job in satisfying us for a late lunch. Because the buildings in Amsterdam are ancient the steps going up to the toilets are quite frighteningly narrow and steep.

Die Preise sind für die gebotene Qualität der Speisen deutlich zu hoch. Bei einem Besuch der Toiletten vergeht einem aber eh der Appetit.

Justo al lado del Palacio, la plaza Dam y los principales canales encontramos este restaurante italiano de aspecto familiar y dos plantas (aunque parezca pequeño no lo es). El dueño y parte del personal es de allí y se defienden muy bien en castellano, así que si tú no lo haces en neerlandés o inglés, es una buena opción.
La comida está normal tirando a bien; mi madre comió spaghetti a la siciliana (con verduras y salsa de tomate) y yo una pizza de pepperoni que estaba en su punto justo de picor y grasa, ¡esto no es fácil de conseguir con ese ingrediente!
Lo que no terminó de agradarme fue el trato: aunque con nosotros se portaron bien, teníamos al lado a un par de orientales a las que no pararon de vacilar con estereotipos raciales y que estaban alucinando un poco; además, luego vino una chica muy mona (que vivía en Amsterdam y no en Barcelona) y salieron a atenderla cinco personas a la vez, dejando lo de dentro bastante descuidado y, a la vez, montando un lío morrocotudo con las cuentas de las mesas por ello.
Vamos, que la comida bien, pero tienen ciertas cosas…
