Wonderful coffeeshop in every way – great smoke, prices, drinks, atmosphere, and wonderful people – both behind the counter, and in terms of clientele – met many good folks at Paradox, some locals, and some visitors. Very knowledgeable staff able to answer any questions. Simply a marvelous place in every way. High marks to Paradox!

Decent coffeeshop, quality could be better in general. Coffee wasn’t that good either unfortunately. I’m not sure why it gets such good reviews on Unilocal,so I’m here to fix it :)

Hier komme ich immer wieder gerne her. One of the best shops in town!

Hidden coffee shop near the Anne Frank House. Strong space cakes for very reasonable price. Staff was very kind!

I visited Amsterdam in July 2014, and I decided I had to visit a coffeeshop in order to get the full Amsterdam experience. I did a little research before my trip in order to find a place that wasn’t too tourist-y and had good prices. I found Paradox, and I knew that I had to go there. Once I arrived, I was surprised to see that it was not very crowded; only a handful of people were in there. No loud, obnoxious tourists overdoing it. As it was my first time(I had no experience before my trip), I was very nervous. I ended up getting a pre-rolled j with the weakest strain on the menu(first time, as I said, and I was with my family, I didn’t want to be out of it). Not the typical tourist coffeeshop. The prices are amazing, you get great quality for a low price(as compared to the more popular coffeeshops targeted towards tourists), and I definitely recommend this place for anyone looking to have a more relaxed experience away from crazy tourists. Great place to relax after a long day, and I would also recommend going to Electric Ladyland afterwards. Definitely makes the experience more interesting.

A coffeeshop for grownups. Nice folks, great music(not too loud), quiet location. Our go-to pace.

(*American visitor… you’ve been forewarned.) Hands down for us, the best coffeeshop in the city. Not touristy at all, off the beaten path a bit(so not in the cheesy red-light district), a very friendly staff and, of course, some very good plant life to be had. Never very crowded, but in our tours of several other places that’s probably a good thing– some of the more heavily touristed areas are full of rather annoying, obnoxious folk screwing up the atmosphere. Very much enjoyed the murals on the wall after partaking of some excellent Purple Haze. Only down-side: an Australian backpacker couple who came in… and took their socks/shoes off and hiked them up on the seats. Act like you got some class, folks…
