You can find this Stroopwafel cart in the middle of the Albert Cuyp market. Right in front of the Bazar(a restaurant) on number 182. The stroopwafel cart has been there for 41 years. The stroopwafel guy’s dad has learned to bake the wafels in Gouda. The place for typical Dutch treats. You can smell the sweetness from a far. Don’t be fooled by the other stroopwafel carts in the street. This is the real deal. He will make the stroopwafel right in front of you. Enjoy this typical Dutch treat!

So from what I researched on the internet, people talked about 2 places to get stroopwafels. This place and Lanskroon. Both had very tasty treats, but their stroopwafels were slightly different. This place had it made fresh right in front of you so you get it all warm, oozy, sticky, and slightly messy to eat. Lanskroon has it pre-made in the display case. For 1.50 Euros, you can’t beat the price for a quick tasty dessert snack. The waffle itself wasn’t as crispy as I would have liked. Yes, it’s way crispier than whatever you can find pre-packaged, but it wasn’t as crisp as the other place. I think it’s just personal preference, but I like it crisp.

Ok, apparently everyone watches the travel channel. But it’s ok! Cuz this guy deserves the popularity! We literally trekked all the way to the Albert Cuyp Market just to have one of these delicious sweetness. Upon arrival, there was already a line that stretched out into the other market vendors. There’s one guy… just ONE, working his butt off making the stroopwafels as orders are being placed. He speaks perfect English and even joked a little with us when we placed our order. There’s only two options, the king size with just the caramel filling for € 1,50 or the king size with caramel filling plus a generous spread of chocolate on top for € 2. The beau and I shared just the regular king size one because I’m not a huge fan of sweets and he was already pretty full from his previous meal. Just one of these stroopwafels was enough for the both of us and was absolutely worth the time we traveled from the city center! There are other places to get your stroopwafels but this one is definitely worth crossing off your bucketlist!

*Suffering from stroopwaffel withdrawals* The Albert Cuyp market is a great find in the city. I enjoyed it so much I went back twice to try more of the amazing food. Which of course meant I had two stroopwaffels! Huge, warm, gooey, messy, delicious and CHEAP. Great service too! Nothing beats a fresh stroopwaffel, and this is the only place I found that made them.

Prior to arrival in Amsterdam, I had learned of the Stroopwafel and was determined to have one of my own to love and cherish and chew. I decided that this stroopwafel cart in the Albert Cuyp market was going to be where I’d get it done. If you’re going to get a stroopwafel, might as well get a made-right-in-front-of-you one, right? The stroopwafel is like a pizelle in appearance and is cooked in a very similar fashion with a press. Sandwiched between the two cookies is a caramelly mixture. Then, you have the option of having your stroopwafel dipped in melted chocolate… an obvious choice. Go big or go home, right? How many more times can I say stroopwafel in this review? stroopwafel. stroopwafel. Anyway, the stroopwafel is a great dutch treat that I recommend to anyone who is lucky enough to be in the Netherlands to try them and if you find yourself in Amsterdam, this place is the place to go.

Made for you on the spot. Hot. Sticky. Sweet. These are so delicious, and the whole experience is very genuine and face-to-face. If you ever find yourself in the Albert Cyupmarkt, pick one up while you browse.

Definitely the best stroopwafel I’ve had in Amsterdam! What beats a fresh gooey stroopwafel? Certainly not the ones you get in the store. I didn’t know how much better it could be when the stroop in yo waffel is still warm and running out the sides all over your face and napkin. I’ve taken many visitors here and they were in love with it.

Made to order, chewy, crispy and gooey stroopwafels that are as big as your hand, made by a handsome Dutchman. Yes please!

What’s not to love? I absolutely adored my ooey, gooey, caramelly fresh-made stroopwafel from this vender. The caramel was dripping down my hands! This is a must stop on Albert Cuypstraat! It costs 1.50E for one large stroopwafel.

I’m not a huge stroopwafel fan but if you’re in the market, this stand(in the middle) makes them fresh and is a good place to start the two soft thin wafel pieces get a slathering of caramel in between actually a bit sticky and messy so have to eat it flat(horizontally) does make you a bit thirsty

When you come to Albert Cuyp you have to do a few things. Buy fresh groceries, get your chocolate penis at the chocolate shop, eat some Poffertjes and you MUST try freshly made stroopwafels. =) There aren’t much things better in life than a warm and crunchy stroopwafel. I’ve died and gone to heaven the day I had mine. I’ve asked for a triple layer one and they were more than happy to make me one. God bless the Dutch for his heavenly dessert. 1.50 Euros for a king size. 2 Euros for a chocolate dipped stroopwafel as of Nov 2012.

amazing stroopwafels! I loved them so much. We walked several KMs just to reach this place. At Albert Cuyp, stroopwafels are a warm thin cookie outside stuck together with buttery_sweet sticky goodness … nom nom nom! A must visit for stroopwafel lovers.
