OLVG Ziekenhuis

This was my first day in Amsterdam and my partner fell and injured himself and needed medical attention. The hotel concierge say Olvg hospital was close and good. I as a foreigner in Amsterdam had no choice but to go with his recommendation. Once they took they took my partners basic information and what the injury was they had us wait in waiting room 2. Once in waiting room 2 their customers service fell off a cliff, in my opinion. We were waiting for over two hours. The desk nurse bedside manor was lacking to say the least. She stated, «if you can’t wait then leave.» What a way to treat the sick and injured. If I ever come back to Amsterdam and happened to need medical assistance Olvg hospital will not be one of my choices.

New location for the OLVG and it’s quite «hip» looking. The staff are always nice and helpful.

It’s a laid back peaceful medical clinic on Spuistraat. They sometimes have a greeter who will offer you coffee or tea or something else to drink. I guess it makes the wait more palatable although the wait wasn’t all that bad. Talk to the lady behind the counter to begin. Give her all the require information and ID. Then, have a seat and wait until your name is called.
