I have learned a few things from my lovely Irish friends in this town of ours. Among them– where to drink. This is one of the best spots to be found. Not only for booze and late night romps. But music and some bar stool philosophy as well. The owners and patrons have kept it easy going– with an element of kindness which usually must be imported to these«low lands». Cosy up with a pint or a bag of salt and vinegar crisps. Get drunk and tell someone you love them. Punch a friend in the face. Just make sure you kiss the Blarney Stone too.

Bön bar. Pour le sport, la musique et l’ambiance. De bonnes bières. Les serveurs et le patron sont très sympathiques.

Legit Irish pub in the heart of Amsterdam. Always a friendly greeting from the bartender, and a perfect pour of Guinness awaiting. Prices are reasonable, and the restrooms are actually free! Highly recommended for a break from Heineken while in Amsterdam.

Love coming here! Great Irish pub. Usually live music. Guinness on tap. People are friendly. Prices pretty cheap compared to other places in Holland.

Good vibe, but expensive. A pint is 5.60 euro. At other spots across the canal the price is closer to 4.50. Good location and friendly locals though.

It was nice finding a chill Irish pub near the clubbing madness of Rembrantsplein. Every bar in area turns into a club and I just wasn’t feeling the madness of clubs and am very thankful I found this place. They pour a proper Guinness and had a great Irish band play the night I was there.

I found this place while wandering around Rembrantsplein on my first day in Amsterdam. I was traveling solo and had just arrived from Ireland and this place was perfect. The regulars are very friendly and the tunes were lively and fun. Sadly, there’s no kitchen, but grab some food in the square, then come over. It’s a fun old building too. I can’t recommend this place enough. Great music and a good selection of Irish drinks and fun bar staff.

Mulligans Irish Music Bar looks right out on the river Amstel, from which Amsterdam took its name eight centuries ago. Over the years its easy location, casual friendly atmosphere, and the blend of quirky characters who call it home, have somehow made Mulligan’s into a legendary meeting place for musicians, writers, artists and other unsavoury types — as well as a destination for thousands of curious visitors from abroad. It’s called an Irish music bar because much of the time, something is happening that’s both Irish and musical. Noteworthy modern songwriters and traditional players from Ireland make regular appearances, as do the more accomplished locals. Every Sunday evening there’s an open Irish session where musicians are welcome to join in. On the first Monday of each month the McSweeney Dancers hold a set dancing session with live music, inviting participation from beginners and experts alike. The other Mondays the dancers practise with canned music. Why Irish music in Amsterdam? Believe it or not, there’s a strong traditional Irish music movement in the Netherlands, and it’s not just Irish ex-pats who play the stuff. A lot of Nederlanders are quite fond of Irish music — and some of them play it very seriously indeed.
