Great pizza, drinks & friendly attentive service! Authentic thin crispy pizza bases with good quality toppings(the less is more approach). Place was humming when we visited so it’s obviously a local favorite! They were great with kids and our pizzas came out quickly. Arrive hungry and a pizza each is achievable. They had a range of vegetarian options which were not pizzas that sounded delish so am eager to return to try out!

I think this place has one of the best pizza’s in Amsterdam. First of all, I used to live just around the corner from this pizza place and every summer the terrace was packed with people… I kept telling myself I will go there one day. It wasn’t until I moved did I decide to check it out. I was so pleasantly surprised! I didn’t have a reservation and my friend and I just went up and sat on the terrace while the sun was out. Now with the service, you may need to flag the server and just chill and be patient… I think there are only like 3 people working in the whole restaurant because it is a small local business and ALWAYS busy. Now we went to order 2 pizza’s. They were awesome! These were the best pizza’s I think I had in Amsterdam yet. Not at all soggy as I often have in the middle of every stone oven pizza… But also, not at all dry. It was just right. One pizza was with potato, onion and garlic. The other was a simple margherita pizza. A friend once told me if you want to judge a pizza place by how good their pizza is, see how well they do a margherita… So I decided to give it a go. Just the simple pizza’s and they were done so incredibly well. The pizza was so good we actually ordered deserts to see how they were. They had a very interesting Dutch desert made from yogurt that had been strained from a cheese cloth with fresh berries… I forgot the name, but it was really good, not too sweet or heavy either. I actually felt like I had the ‘healthy’ option. I had a really authentic ‘Dutch’ experience at this place, and combined with the best pizza I have had in Amsterdam, this place deserves a 4 star rating. On a side note, this place would be amazing to go in winter as the entire restaurant smells like burning wood and pizza. They keep all the wood stacked around the over and it creates a nice cozy environment too… not to mention this place has all these cool, funny, kitschy decorations on the inside that make me smile :)

The pinxtos are definitely worth a visit. I just loved the limoncello marinated salmon, wood oven heated vennel and the dades with pancetta. The pizza was good and quite big(good for sharing). Desserts were not too bad. Service was genuine, yet very chaotic. We enjoyed none the less and will definetely come back here again, although maybe not every month:-).

I am happy that these kind of places pop up in upcoming neighbourghoods. Normally I would not have passed through, so it was a nice surprise to end up here. The combinations of tapas and pizza’s is somehow rate(are you Spanish or Italian, or do you just like both?); it’s just a combination I would not instantly think of. So is the concept of sharing, which is encouraged by the staff. That means you order a few tapas and share them and after that order a pizza and share it. I really like it, because it gives a nice feel to the whole eating out experience. Togetherness. The staff is friendly and recommended really nice beers. Even on a busy Friday night a table was available within no time. The price is a bit high for the quantity of the food in my opinion. Overall: a nice new experience!

Even though my hopes were pretty high for this one(they did a good job in recruiting or just winning promoters) I was super disappointed. My man made reservations on a Friday night, walking in(expectations still high) we got a least effort ‘hello’ and we were placed at the bar. There we had to clean our own ‘table’ at the bar, which included blowing away cigarette ashes(still wondering where that came from). Just another bar/resto transformed into kingdom of waiters(pretty Amsterdam-ish) instead of making you feel like being treated the king. After waiting about 10 minutes for anyone to notice us or ask us what to drink, my male date turned into an angel by making last minute reservations at Quatfass(right around the comer) which turned out to be a total relief. Michel Inn? I think never again!
