I’ll admit – my go-to dish is chicken with peanut sauce, but I’m a big fan of this take-away spot. I’ve also had the spicy beef and the shrimp chips and it was all really good as well, and really reasonably priced. If you like Kantjil & de Tiger/want to try it but are on a student budget, this is the perfect compromise. Only 4,50 Euro for a medium box.

ordered mackerel but was too dried and the sauce does not taste Indonesian at all. one of the waiter was quite inexperienced and clumpsy.

Best UvA canteen! Yes when you bump into the UvA single library and you saw people digging their take-away boxes, yes, all from Kantjil. The klein box can fit for bami/rice and meat(coconut chicken/curry beef…) and veggie. I used to get the large one which is a waste for girls. Very rich bami, as Asian I am of course a fan of rice, but I always stay with their bami. Well seasoned with butter and resilient upon bite. Coconut chicken is my favourite, not that sweet and milky than you think. Perfectly mixed with the french beans. Go for what you feel like for the mains, rice or noodle. And the meat is well marinated which some veggie would balance. We can still appreciate the fine Indonesian food by boxes and bags.

Unschlagbar günstig in diesem Teil Amsterdams. Einziger Nachteil. Umbedingt ausprobieren.
