There are a lot of great things about HelloFresh and it has been helpful for busy weeks when I have no time to do any shopping. However, the customer service is really terrible. If you need anything or something goes wrong, you are pretty much on your own and even if you get them on the phone, it is like«tough luck». In the end, like Kelsey V, I cancelled my membership because I was fuming over problems. Pro: Recipes are easy to follow and tasty. Almost all the ingredients are provided, even the small spices. Interesting mix of recipes. Good chance to try new things, especially vegetables. Easy to see what recipes you will be getting next week. Con: Customer service is terrible. You can’t get in contact with anyone on the phone and when you do, they are unhelpful. If you email them, you will have to wait at least 3 weeks for a response. Portions are tiny. I’m not a big eater and I’m usually hungry 2 hours after eating.

You cannot reach a real human being to assist in any way! I’d give them zero stars if I could. They are second only to Time Warner Cable! The food is average but companies succeed on excellent customer service.

I feel like maybe I was a bit harsh in my original review. Yes, the customer service still sucks, and yes, I had a rotten shallot in my box last week. But this week’s box was really, really good — salmon with mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts, coconut curry beef soup with aubergine and mushroom, and a pesto pasta with spinach and mushroom. Plus I had a lovely bottle of balsamic vinegar that I think was an extra/sorry we messed up peace offering. I just made the soup and I seriously want to eat the entire pan. It was fast(25 minutes) and clearly delicious. And what I continue to like about this type of grocery/meal delivery service is that I get to try new things. I cancelled my membership while I was fuming over the weekend about the missing box and all previous problems but now I’m rethinking that decision. I just wish they could get their customer service together, then I would very, very happily rejoin.
