H.E.M. Hotel Amsterdam

I stayed in this hotel in 2009 YES 2009! Anyways I was 19 years old and my boyfriend and I stayed in a room that was called «The Annex» it was the nastiest atrocious room I have ever stayed in in my life. I ignored the reviews online due to stupidity. After living in what felt like hell for a couple of days I mustered up the courage to pay the extra money to stay in one of their regular rooms which was much much better. Amsterdam is a beautiful place just don’t stay in the annex.

Globally average, this hotel («Inn») is pretty well situated not far (5−10min) from a Tram stop of a line linking to the Old Center /​Station (25min)
Rooms are clean, good enough, bathroom ok
Corridors are noisy in main building, very quiet in the extension.
Breakfast price is ok, large choice, but reception of the breakfast area is poor
Large parking (extra fee of course)
Reception desk very helpful and nice
Nice extra: you get hungry at «any time»? They can prepare some junk food for you in the lobby.

Für einen Kurzurlaub in Amsterdam und Besichtigung des Keuckenhofs buchten wir dieses ***Hotel über das Internet. Es liegt etwas außerhalb an der A 10 (dem Innenstadtring von Amsterdam), aber die Lage ist verkehrstechnisch sehr gut, denn man ist in 15– 20 Minuten mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln in der Altstadt. Parkplätze sind in Amsterdam knapp und sehr und daher sehr teuer.
Unser Hotel berechnet fürs Parken einen Tagespreis von 12,50 €, was wir aber nicht nutzten, denn ca. 600 m weiter war ein P&R-Parkplatz wo man für 24 Stunden 8 € bezahlt. Dazu gab es für alle PKW Insassen Tickets für die Amsterdamer Verkehrsbetriebe, so dass wir billig parkten und dazu auch außerdem noch mobil waren um das Amstel Bier und den Genever in der Altstadt zu testen.
Somit waren uns Parkdauer, Parkpreise und Promille völlig egal.
Dieses P&R Parken mit Tickets ist auch für Nachtschwärmer geeignet, denn die Verkehrsmittel fahren durchgehend bis 1 Uhr morgens.
Nun weiter zu dem Hotel: Wir fanden es unter
und waren erst einmal platt. Dieses moderne Hotel bietet Zimmer, die alle 23 qm groß sind, nett und sauber eingerichtet sind, je nach der Auslastung des Hotels für unglaubliche 23 € (Komplettpreis für 2 Personen) an, allerdings ohne Frühstück. (Ein Preis billiger als jede Jugendherberge).
Das Frühstück kann man im Hotel dazu kaufen, oder im Umfeld in kleinen Shops oder Café‘s frühstücken. Also man sieht, dass man auch ohne Deal –Coupons gute Schnäppchen finden kann. Wir fanden diesen Preis absolut spitze und können das Hotel für Kurzurlauber sehr empfehlen. Auch die Nutzung des P&R Parkplatzes mit Ausgabe von Fahrtickets ist eine ganz tolle Sache der Holländer, um Autofahrer aus der City herauszuhalten. Dafür nochmal 5 Extra Sterne für diesen tollen Service zum Superpreis.
Wo kann man in einem so tollen Haus zu zweit für 23 € Gesamtpreis (ohne Frühstück) noch übernachten ???

Este hotel es un desastre, no corresponden las habitaciones a las fotos del mismo, es un asco los baños, el personal es totalmente desagradable y para mas nos asaltaron dentro de la habitacion (robaron ordenador, pasaportes dinero) no haciendo caso ninguno personal del hotel a las denuncias hechas, tienen camaras de seguridad, pero no hacen nada. No es el unico caso lamentablemente no me informe y nos a pasado. No es economico y esta a 40 minutos del centro de amsterdam, hay cerca un centro de reabilitacion de drogadependientes que por la noche te acosan pidiendo dinero.

Okay, so during the worlds least organised move to another city, I found myself having to stay in hostels for… a month. The one that my girlfriend and I stayed at the most was the HEM Hotel, more notably the budget building. Their budget building is essentially lots of 13m2 rooms that either take 2 or 4 persons.
The budget building was to be honest, a nightmare.
The halls smelt of mould, which isn’t a surprise considering it appeared to be built on a small hill, where the plants creep from outside through the windows. But, the rooms themselves were actually okay. I think we spent so much time picturing the worst that anything other than a disaster seemed like a success.
They were simple; two single beds and a small bathroom with toilet and shower (granted, unless your somehow missing your legs or are under 4 feet tall, any chance of sitting on the toilet seat without assuming some contortionist’s classic is impossible).
But the best bit, the thing that made the mouldy halls and a strange toilet aerobics class all okay, was the price. £9 a night, per person. If your looking for a bed and maybe even a room without an additional 14 people in it. You can’t go wrong.

NIGHTMARE! Do not stay there. Bed bugs, fleas. It used to be a hostel. Has three stars, but doesn’t deserve one. Extremely dirty and smelly. Elevator is constantly broken. We changed hotels, first time in my life.
