Very special place. Art gallery and design shop ground floor. Amazing café first floor, hidden from the busy street. Decoration(ecclectic Nordic design mixed with old chairs and tables), lots of white and blue. Service is friendly. The place is so special that you dont care too much what you eat. Soups are very tasty nevertheless. Sandwitches are small and design too :) Cakes are good too. A must-see.

This shop is super cool! Really interesting design pieces at all prices ranges — from 5 € to 5000 €. A pleasurable and inspirational place to look around. There is a lovely looking café upstairs but we didn’t try it at this occasion but seemed great. Amazing garden in the courtyard too. Worth having a look around on a cultural mooch around the city.

I am addicted to coming here and highly suggest it if you are a design nut! What an amazing concept to combine a design store, gallery, clothing boutique, restaurant and hotel all in one! The design exhibited is of the finest quality and I’ve always been treated so well whenever I visit. Love the décor of the restaurant although it could improve a tad on quality of food served but would suggest if you would just like a small bite to eat or tea. A place you absolutely cannot miss if you come to amsterdam.

Insane place with huge space. Not really a shop as there isn’t much to buy, more like an art gallery.(90% of the people in store probably will not make any purchase so I don’t get how they make up for rent.) Great for sightseeing because you probably will never find stores like this in other big cities like New York.

Ah Droog !

Looking for retro and bazar furniture, then this is the place. Droog is a unique brand offering casual and exotic products for the home. Droog Amsterdam has a unique selection of furniture, lighting, table ware and accessories for the house. It’s not really my thing but ideal if you like that studio design look. However, what I do love about Staalstraat is that there are so many great places to stop and shop.
