This place has sneakily become one of my favorite places to shop. It is a huge sporting goods store and they have everything! I come here for running clothes and they have merchandise at various price points. I picked up a decent running outfit for 20 euros and a Pilates mat for ONLY3 euros. If you need anything related to sports, camping, bicycling or any other form of exercise, this is your place. It is a bit of a trek from Amsterdam Centrum but it will be worth it. Some nice things about Decathlon: — there is a free toilet by the equestrian aisle in case you end up spending hours there — 90 day return policy and you can return items at any location — staff are pretty helpful and knowledgeable — self checkout

Thank goodness this place is a few metro stops away from Amsterdam. Otherwise, I would seriously go bankrupt. I could literally spend days in this store. It has everything you need to either play a sport, camp, or camp a few days while playing a sport :) For the Canadian and US expats, this is the equivalent of your Mountain Equipment Co-op(Canada) and REI(US) store. There is something for every price point which is super important because gear can get expensive pretty quickly. I think long sleeve base layers started at 10 euros. That is unheard of for such a critical piece of clothing. The staff are super helpful and the guy who was helping me had to go to multiple aisles to show me where to find some stuff I needed so he and I got a good workout while shopping. I’d say its –1 star because its so far away from the city centre but like I said, for me, I’m glad(and my wallet is glad) is kind of far away :)

Decathlon is a super store. Both in size, and in the way the are able to amaze you with the sheer amount of articles they have available, at super affordable prices. What I like in particular is that they have fitting booths on every aisle, and. although they do not seem much, when the curtain is closed, they are really very private, they even have a ceiling(you will understand once there… no peeking from above.) The other thing I like is the self scanning cash registers they have. Don’t worry, they have a friendly person nearby to help you if you cannot figure it out(and they have one normal check out). And this also the area of the store that has the biggest surprise for you: the amount of money you have to pay, which is much lower than you would expect! So yeah: this is a store you should definitely go to if you are in need of something new for your favorite sports!

I am a fan of this sporting goods shop because I enjoy camping. Great spot to pick up all your camping gear. You can buy a lot of your sporting goods here. They cover everything from snowboards to running shoes to camping equipment. I told Dutchman it was time to upgrade on our camping experience. So we bought an awesome tent here.

I love this place! It’s a huge sporting goods store and they have a bit of everything including but not limited to goods for: — Volleyball — Basketball — Baseball(not much) — Soccer — Rugby/Football — Trekking and hiking — Surfing — Diving — Swimming — Archery — Riding(horseback) — Camping — Skiing — Snowboarding — Racquetball/Squash — Tennis — Fitness — Cycling — Skating(inline/board/roller) — Ice skating And probably more! They have stuff to suit any budget, including the very low ones, while maintaining the quality of the goods! The prices are very decent if not cheap for their so called«Blauw Product» labelled stuff, which essentially means that it’s super cheap, and they have a wide array of products. For example, I bought a super thin fleece long sleeve for but € 7.45! The stitching is of great quality and it doesn’t fit baggy like a mass produced one-size-fits-all piece of clothing. It’s formfitting but not tight, at all. I implore you check this place out. You might see things that you need without the prior knowledge of your need for them! Check out the pics to get an idea. Beware if you’re going by car as it’s right next to the Amsterdam Arena so you’ll have to pay for parking.
