Mini dessert pancakes served with butter, powdered sugar, and ice cream? Does is really get any better than this? I had my fair share of pancakes while I was visiting Amsterdam, but the Poffertjes were easily my favorite. Between two people, we shared the small order of 10 pancakes and it was the perfect size. They typically come with just the small stick of butter and powdered sugar, but upon request you can add ice cream to it as well. You get to pick two flavors if you do, we chose vanilla and banana. Let’s just say, there was a little bit of a war over the banana ice cream. We ordered this alongside with a delicious latte. What I loved about this place was its ambience and its workers. Although the place is very easy to miss(we passed it a couple times), it’s what makes the place so special. Apparently the little building use to be mobile but is now stationary. The lady who served us was exceptionally nice and very helpful.

We first came here based on the glowing reviews of the poffertjes. We continued to come back as much as possible because of how good they really are and the friendly and welcoming staff. To say that they are delicious is an understatement. There are no words to properly articulate the ascent into heaven that comes with each bite. Come and see for yourself. Update: After our initial review we got a chance to try poffertjes at other places around the general area and can, now, further confirm that they are, hands down, the BEST poffertjes in town! No exaggeration.

It was our last day in Amsterdam and a coworker had recommended we come here. We had to make sure we knocked out some pofferjes. Since it’s our last meal before getting on a plane, we both ordered an entrée pancake and of course a plate of pofferjes. I really liked the vegetable and sausage pancake. It’s plenty of food for lunch. Pofferjes here were awesome. Though I will throw a disclaimer that I unfortunately didn’t get a chance to try pofferjes anywhere else. So this isn’t a good comparison. I loved them for the simplicity and topped with powdered sugar and strawberries. We shared a plate of 10, but I could have easily had more. Each is only slightly more than a bite. I’m pretty sure we devoured our plate in under 2 minutes. This location is very cute. It’s kind of set apart by itself. When we came the weather wasn’t that great, but I think it would be a great spot during the warmer days.

Why have dinner when you can have sweet pancakes followed by poffertjes! Sugar High and Happiness all in one ! I just agree with everyone else that had recent reviews. By the way, service was super friendly !

We came for an impromptu dinner and had a great time and meal! Their pannenkoeken are great. We had 1 cheese and 1 ham, cut them in half and shared. Scrumptious. For dessert, we split one large order(20) poffertjes. The house red and dry white wines are actually quite presentable. The coffee and cappuccinos are nice. We had a canal-side table on the north side, and it was fun on a balmy indian-sumer October 1st(Thursday) eve. Hearty recommendation. Service was cheerful and friendly.

Open faced crepes — so amazing. Had cheese and mushrooms. My friend had tomato, ham, and cheese. Cute outdoor patio. Great friendly service.

It’s a nice place with delicious pofferjes and it’s right by the canal, but expect very high prices. A plate of 20 pofferjes that costs about 5 € elsewhere here would cost about 10 € and higher. You also can’t get tap water — they only sell bottled water. We stayed here for a little while escaping torrential rain outside so it worked out as a tiny dry harbor for us.

The pancakes are awesome. Getting there early(site says 10, but we happened by much earlier and they seated us) for a seat outside, next to the canal, in the shade of lovely trees made them extra awesome. A friendly cat joining us and sitting in our laps while we waited for the food just capped the experience. Although the server was less happy about the cat visiting. In sum: great pancakes, outstanding outdoor setting, don’t count on a cat.

We decided to skip dinner and get poffertjes instead. What a wonderful idea! If you don’t know what poffertjes are, they are little warm pillows of goodness that can be smothered with a variety of toppings such as fruits, chocolate, and powdered sugar. My friend and I shared a plate of 10 poffertjes topped with powdered sugar, strawberries, and Nutella. We got whipped cream and ice cream on the side. The poffertjes with all the toppings and ice cream together tasted heavenly. We considered ordering another plate but decided that we should eat something more substantial instead… I’m seriously regretting not getting that second plate of poffertjes! This place is right next to a canal, so I suggest sitting outside when the weather is ideal!

Quite expensive but simply the best Dutch pofferjes ever. So good, I ordered a second round right after the first! Although I added some lemon curd, they are also delicious without it.

POFFERTJES!!! My friend and I, discouraged after finding that all of the herring stands were closed for the day, decided to instead settle for pancakes. We started with the traditional flat Dutch pancake(we chose bacon and cheese), and we finished with poffertjes served with lemon curd, ice cream, and cream. The bacon and cheese pancake was pretty good but not so different from pancakes we’d tried elsewhere in Amsterdam, BUTTHEPOFFERTJES!!! The poffertjes are another story. These babies were fluffy, sweet, perfect little clouds of warm, carby goodness, and they went so well with their accompaniments. I tried to get a bit of pancake, lemon curd, ice cream, and cream in every bite, and it was absolutely divine. We were devastated when it was over. Pro tip: really close to Blue Boat Canal Company as well as the Van Gogh Museum if you’re looking for other things to do in the area! :)

This place is awesome. We had pancakes and poffertjes the first time around, then came back for the poffertjes: SOGOOD. The pancakes are great, but the poffertjes are even better! We tried poffertjes at some other places, but these were my favorite.

Got a seat right next to the canal. My husband ordered the bacon pancake and I ordered the apple, both were amazing! Friendly staff and fast service, highly recommend!

We stumbled upon this place because it was near our hotel. I was initially hesitant because it is in a touristy part of town. It’s set just inside a small park with windows facing the canal. It has a charming, old-school décor. While the menu is limited, the pancakes and poffertjes are made with quality ingredients. The savory pancake of the day with sausage, onions, and peppers was a little odd, depending on your tastes. The poffertjes were sweet and doughy — I only need to have those once in my life, but I’m glad I had them.

I just love the pofferjes here and to get a seat next to the canal is the icing on the cake. Even though the special was an apple cinnamon pannenkoeken, I stuck with my favorite, the pofferjes with powdered sugar, strawberries and whipped cream. My husband got the ham and chesse pannenkoeken which was also delicious. The prices are a bit high, but it’s in a well-traveled part of the city and next to the canal, and you won’t be disappointed!

Been to this place last saturday and today. They serve delicious pancakes, both with sweet and salt toppings. Nice view from canal if you choose to sit outside or at window booths. Super-friendly staff. It seems to me they do nit have complimentary Wi-Fi(haven’t checked, though), but you can log onto other networks in the area if you are in real need. Totally worth the visit.

This place is perfectly situated by the canal, exclusive shopping area, the park, Casino, and bars. It has a beautiful view of the canal. Their pancakes are authentic. the staff were very friendly and helpful. Make sure to sit outside to enjoy the view. I can’t come up with anything bad about the place, but wish they had beer other than Heineken.

Apple crêpe and poffertjes were the favorite at our table, Although offered at several places the atmosphere here is ideal with the canal view and open kitchen to watch preperation. Order the poffertjes as served, without strawberries and whipped cream. Powdered sugar and butter alone makes them melt in your mouth. My reason for 4 stars is price, you can get crepes for much less at other restaurants, ambiance and location come with a price. At almost 50 euros for 3 people for breakfast you will want to go on a beautiful day and really enjoy yourself!
