This place is in the neighborhood and they serve one of the best pizzas in Amsterdam. My husband and I start our evening with a glass of prossecco and caprese salad. For the main course we always go with pizzas. They have wooden oven and my favorite pizza is pizza caprese. It comes with fresh mozzarella on top, delicious. Staff is very friendly and helpful if you have questions about the menu then they are quite willing to help. Perfect place to try pizzas and their mozzarella is as good as of as you get in Italy. Go for it!

I reviewed this place 3 years ago when my, then girlfriend, and I drunkingly stumbled here for dinner after a night on the town. We just went back for nostalgia reasons and ended up pleasantly surprised at how good the place still is. This is rare for Amsterdam. The service is great, pizza fresh, and interior quant and inviting. If in this area there is no better place to grab a pizza pie. My only beef is they switched the BB King off soon as I left. Blasphemy to someone who lived in the Delta :)

MONDIEU.

This really is one of my favorite pizza places in the neighborhood. Top three for sure. There has been a few times where they have missed on the quality for one reason or another but mostly it’s been great. Since it’s so close probably go there once every couple weeks for a quick dinner during the week. The ambience is a little better than just a casual pizza place but nothing spectacular. The noise level is edging on loud but usually not terrible. Top three for the neighborhood so that has to say something.

Very small and friendly neighborhood pizza place with terrific service and food. There were interesting and well chosen topping choices, and the wood fired pizzas cooked to perfection. The wine was reasonable and good, as were the salads and desserts. This is a European restaurant and if you are in a hurry order take out. We had to wait for quite a while to get a table because neither the other customers or wait staff were in a hurry to clear the tables, which is something that we appreciated during our own leisurely meal.(We were lucky because while we were waiting the rain held off and we saw the most beautiful rainbow.)

One of the best pizzas I’ve ever eaten. A cozy restaurant with a friendly staff. The pizza & prosecco combo is a must.

Oh mijn God! !

Great pizzas! Best in town I say… well, I think… Its the perfect combo of good neighborhood, good food, great scorpinos to wash it all down… I love the location of this one — its close to my place so I can pick up anytime. Also its close to «The Movies» so I always grab a bite here before/after a movie. There is always quite a bot of crowd and a long waiting time and thats the only con of this place but once you get seated — the food comes around fairly quickly. And the scorpinos are to die for — super creamy and rich and just the right amount of sweetness. I wouldnt recommend this for a super romantic evening but perfect for a hang out with friends/or a date… maybe… My favorites are — napoletana and da noi — both are great. The crust is thin and light and the toppings are perfect in terms of quantity and taste. Craving a pizza now, are we? — go for it!

Nice pizzas! A tiny place but you’re able to take away. They also have desserts. Didn’t order one. Might do it next time. They offer a prosecco & pizza picknick. That’s nice for in the Summer.

Great thin crust pizza at fair price. The buffalo mozzarella salad way one of the best I’ve had.

I’ve had pizza in many places around the world including my native New York and in Rome and this ranks right up there with the best. Highly recommended and the combination with proseceo is delightful.

We came in here and put our 3-month baby on one of the tables and they didn’t kick us out. So there was that. But then they proceeded to ignore us for about 20 minutes. We were just about to get up and leave, since it was pretty loud and hot inside anyways, when a waiter blessed us with his attentions. After that the whole meal felt very passive-aggressive, like they hated us being there even though the restaurant was half-empty, and acted like we were always in their way. Yes, I’m sure you need to get behind this curtain I’m sitting in front of *right now*, very urgently, so urgently that you can shove right past me. That must be why you placed 2 tables and chairs in front of said curtain! Anyways, the pizza was ok, but unless you want to be treated like garbage there are better places to spend your time and money.

Are you looking for real italian pizza’s? This is the place to go to! BUT! It gets really crowded very fast, so making a reservation is highly recommended. The restaurant is also very kid friendly so you can bring your kids here. The great thing for local people is that you can order and pick up the pizza’s later. Don’t wait any longer and get yourself an awesome pizza!

Very small pizzeria on the inside, but just get take-out! Nice, chewy crust, plenty of toppings, and original, surprising ingredients that meld together beautifully. The Boscaiola with creamy mushroom sauce and sausage is delectable, truly amazing. Da Noi with paprika cream sauce is fabulous too. Last time I went here, we just sent my sister to pick up the pizzas on the Haarlemmerdijk. My brother and I then grabbed his boat at his apartment, sailed over, and picked up my sister, her boyfriend and our Pizzabakker pizzas from the park nearby, where they could easily jump into our boat. Great little picnic while boating through the canals, and De Pizzabakkers made it that much better!

The setting is of a simple restaurant, not pizzeria. And it is quite small, movable but narrow in space, but still a very nice atmosphere. It’s warm with a friendly staff. It’s a very inviting Italian like restaurant. The only thing is that they open really late in the afternoon, so when I got there, they were just opening and I was the first to get one of their less than a dozen places to sit. I’m just relaxing because this street is one of the more relaxed neighborhoods, away from the center. The pizza here is of gourmet quality. The pizza baker stretches the dough to this not perfectly round shape. I order the San Daniele: a prosciutto like cured ham(average and very good tasting) topping with bits of mozzarella(they top a good amount of the prosciutto, they don’t skimp out and have bits of this flavorful chunks of mozzarella). The crust seems like something you can make at home but is much better. It comes close to golden brown. It’s airy, bubbly and of bread chewy quality. Piping hot from their wood burning oven, the pizza is very good compared to many pizzerias. They also have glasses and bottles of wine lined up but I didn’t order, this place was part of my places to visit list and I thought it was excellent. Different than many pizza places I have been to. They DONOT accept CASH.

We had been wandering around the city and needed to have some dinner. There are tons of places to eat in Amsterdam. We very happily came across this wee pizza place that has a wood fired oven! We were quite lucky to get a table in this very wee place as it only has 6 sit in tables! My friend kept telling me this is the true Amsterdam experience, these type of tight quarters is what Amsterdam is all about. Also the stairs! By god I have never seen such steep stairs in my life! Those waiters deserve trophies for getting up and down those stairs. I had a hard time on my own let alone with a place of food or a tray of drinks! Anyways, the pizza was really lovely. The crust was thin and the sauce and cheese very nice. Recently I have reverted back to eating the Margarita pizza. There is something about the pureness of the Margarita that draws me back to it again and again. My friend had the grilled veggie salad, which she thoroughly enjoyed. All in all a very pleasant evening with delicious food.

Given the amount of Italian food in Amsterdam, De Pizzabakkers is an oasis of quality, authenticity, and true to their word of pizza and prosecco, both of which we indulged in. There is a small but solid menu to choose from. For under € 30, we got two glasses of house prosecco and two vegetarian pizzas, the zucchini and the pizza of the month, which came with figs, radicchio, and balsamic. The service was attentive, the wait was not long at all on a Saturday night, and the general atmosphere was relaxed. I was waiting for the chance to be able to dine in, but rest assured that you can do take away as well. I had hoped to one day grab a pie from the location on the Overtoom to enjoy in Vondelpark, but I would be equally as keen to settle on the canal two blocks south of Haarlemerdijk and enjoy the summer weather.

We recently ate in De Pizzabakkers, a group of four adults and three children, they were very accommodating and organised a big table upstairs for us. The children were allowed to watch the pizzas being made downstairs which they loved. Lovely, tasty pizza, not too heavy on the toppings, and not too much cheese which was very welcome, we had a few beers, and a couple of delicious salads, good tasty reasonable pizza, well worth a visit. There are three De Pizzabakkers restaurants in central Amsterdam.

This is the closest to ‘authentic’ you can get for an Italian style pizza without spending a lot of time and money on it, and at a spot where they also have excellent wine to go with the doughy deliciousness. From the moment you walk in, you feel the hospitality just embrace you. I love chatting with the people who run this place. There’s not a lot of seating, especially if you’re in a group, but for a couple, this place is just enough cosy to make it a romantic evening without the hassle of having to dress up for it. There’s the pizza of the week, and they also have seasonal specialties all enumerated on the chalk board. The toppings are fresh. The dough tastes and smells home cooked. Oh yeah, they have a wood burning oven, which makes for that unmistakable flavor. Be aware that they don’t accept cash at all. This normally isn’t a problem since I prefer to use plastic anyway. I am a big fan of the spinoci with pine nuts and caramelized onions. Yummm! Try this place for food and drinks. You will love it!
