If you like to play pool, this place is worth a visit. The Australian Outback theme is unique in Amsterdam, and they have a nice big terrace. However, I actively avoid Coco’s. The people are nice but it’s full of rowdy tourists. It’s probably a good place to meet people if you’re visiting Amsterdam and feeling social. You won’t find many locals. The beer selection and the food are just OK. This isn’t Coco’s fault, but please do watch your purse/phone/wallet while you’re here. I have two friends who have been pick-pocketed on separate occasions.

Not a fan. We stopped here after a day of touring Amsterdam. When most tables had only drinks that should have been a sign. I ordered the rib eye medium well as I had been craving protein. Horrible! It came out bland and was RARE. I asked that it be cooked more and 15 – 20 min later I get the same plate with my ketchup on it… luke warm rib eye and same old potatoes now cold. I wasted 17 € as it was not edible just a cold mess. When in Amsterdam again I WON’T be back.

If you enjoy food, run to the hills! «Warm beer and lousy food» is not just a funny phrase, it truly is their motto. The place is great for large groups, people who enjoy watching sports and karaōke nights, but that’s just about it. The food truly is lousy; the fish & chips were soggy, super drenched in oil, and the snacks weren’t that great either, not even the fries impress. I’ve read a couple of good things about other food in the menu, but I don’t see myself coming back(not voluntarily at least). The cheap price of the beers and food is probably what keeps people coming back, so it is an option if your account is running on the red but you still want to have fun and hang out with friends in Amsterdam.

Lousy food and warm beer is the official slogan and while the first part is true it is still an excellent place to drink cold beer and watch sports… Just dont expect The food to be anything out of The ordinary. And they place notes on the tables saying they will remove The tables by 10 am but doesnt… Stange Way to boost sales

It wasn’t a great experience but not a bad one either. I sat outside in their terrace which has some nice awnings when and if it rains. They have built in heaters in the top of them. The service wasn’t bad. There were two waitresses working a large area being assisted by two others. They were pleasant and friendly. The menu has some interesting selections like focaccia bread with different toppings, baked potatoes with different fillings, several burgers, ribs, salads and more. I had one of the baked potatoes with their famous chili. It was actually two baked potatoes and a salad. An interesting thing to note is that they mention their famous chili but I didn’t see a bowl or a cup of it on their menu. They have an extensive happy hour with lots of cheap drinks and a very large selection of beers. I got there before happy hour and ordered a gin & tonic. It was served with the gin over ice in a glass with the tonic served separately. I assume they forgot the lime. What’s interesting to me here is that while on the menu it states the price for a gin and tonic along with a happy hour price I was charged separately 4,60 euro for the gin and also charged an addtional 3,00 euro for the tonic. On the menu it reads gin & tonic implying one price for the drink. I think the waitress might have been confused. The meal was okay though it has promise. I’ll have to go back to reassess it. It is a popular place. Some speak well of the food. The waitress went out of her way to get my dog a bowl of water filling a champagne bucket with water. It was a lot but a very nice gesture. They’re also dog friendly.

This is the place to be no matter the time of day. It has a great outdoor sitting area and there’s always lively people around which are keen for conversation. Being an Australian themed bar you will find lots of expats here and the crown is typically 20 – 30’s. As the night approaches the bar turns into a club(with a bouncer too) and you can dance the night away. I’ve been to many themed parties here and always had a good time. There’s so much great things I can say about this place(atmosphere, location, activities) and this is probably the reason I keep coming back over and over.

This place is awful. The service is terrible and the food is even worse. We ordered an appetizer sampler and half the food was cold when it arrived, plus they forgot the spring rolls that were supposed to come with it. Luckily, we hadn’t ordered our main course yet(see the part about terrible service). On the plus side, I used their free wifi to Unilocal a good restaurant. Seriously, there are WAYBETTER places to eat around here.

Since this place was on Rembrandtplein I wasn’t expecting much… in terms of size or flavor. But I got the not-so-huge beef burger with bacon and cheese. It was huge to me! And it was a really good burger. I would actually go back just for the burger! The fries are chunky but pretty good. The happy hour deals are really good and so are the drinks! I was very happy with my tall cocktail for 4.50. And it’s a great spot for people-watching! Go here to chill out after work, on the weekend, to party or whatever. Great drinks with great bar food, this is a great spot in Amsterdam. Filled with locals and tourists alike, you will feel right at home!

Their kangaroo burger is delicious! Throw some bacon on it and some cheese on your fries. Its the best combination. My friend had a bacon cheddar beef burger both times and it enjoyed it. On our second visit(it was that great) I had a bacon beef burger western style. The portions are large so either share or take home like we did! Bar seating and service was adequate to staff and spacing. Kiss the cook for me!

one of those crazy places to party in amsterdam and kinda reminds me of a walkabout… they usually have something happening most nights and it gets busy around 10pm

My bf and I were looking for a place to have a late dinner near our hotel at Rembrandtplein, and although there were several dining options in this plaza, we chose this restaurant because it looked the most lively on a Monday night. There was a sign on the wall that said 50% off food all Monday. For real? Awesome, then count us in for sure! ;) It was a nice summer evening, so we opted to sit outside. The service was really slow. Like, REALLY slow. Slow to the point where our server took so long to take our drink orders that it soon became time for the second round of happy hour, so we didn’t mind getting our drinks at a discounted price. :) We weren’t in a hurry to go anywhere afterwards anyway. I got a refreshing piña colada that came with a big, juicy wedge of fresh pineapple. Since we were in Amsterdam, my bf ordered the bitterballen, authentic Dutch snacks made from deep fried breaded beef ragu. 8 bitterballen came with a mustard dip. Normally, I’m not a huge fan of bitterballen, but these were hot and crunchy with creamy insides and quite tasty. Very good with the mustard dip. My bf ordered a rib eye steak, and I got the Ayers rock salad in an attempt to try to eat something healthier after being a gluttonous pig the day before at the Rollende Keukens food truck festival. I was really excited to try kangaroo meat for the first time on my salad, and it was pretty good – juicy, lean, and tender. The salad itself was also quite yummy, with lettuce, bacon, tomatoes, various greens, warm feta cheese, and pine nuts. The menu said garlic croutons, but in reality, it was two crunchy pieces of garlic toast, which I didn’t mind at all. :) The salad was quite delicious with a light touch of honey & mustard dressing, but the feta cheese came in ginormous chunks with were really salty and kind of overpowered the dish. I’m giving this place 4 stars because although the food wasn’t spectacular, it really hit the spot, there was a cool ambiance just to chill and hang out, they had an extensive drink menu with lots of cocktail options, and you really can’t beat the price at 50% off all food on Mondays! :) :) :)

What can I say… I’m a regular and I am not afraid to say it. I am one of those that walks in and greats the bouncers, the bar staff, and hangs with the DJ’s. So I cannot and will not say anything bad about this place. Why did I become a regular? Well, this is a good question since I am a bit of a prissy girl and like my posh clubs, my high heels and dresses this place does not fit my personality at all!!! Or so you think… Let me tell you why… Dance Dance Dance… The dj’s know how to throw a good party. So this is the only place in town where a girl(this is my experience) can go to and not be bothered by idiots, cause if they bother you there is a bouncer with a smile next to you in a matter of minutes to make sure the butt-head stays away… So the feel of freedom and safety scores big big points with me Then on a rainy day like today but you still would like to be out… the couches in coco’s provide comfort and coziness. The fireplace gives you even more of a homy feel. Free WIFI for when you would like to work a bit is a plus… And then the food… It’s real pub grub… Big portions, good flavours and exactly what the doctor orders when you are hungover after a night of partying in this place while lounging on their couches and maybe even a cocktail with your kangeroo steak just because you can and hey… it’s cheap!!! If you love your sports, then this is definitely your place! I think I mentioned most of what this place has to offer, and if you haven’t been you have to go! and if you have been and you weren’t as enthusiastic as I am… then send me a message and I’ll take you their on a friday night I am positive you will have a good time.

Mondays — 50% off on the rentier menu — and that’s the main reason I give it 4 stars ;) Good place for a beer with friends. The kangaroo steak and kangaroo burger were both good with 50% off it was a really great deal. I’ve also tried some maggots and crickets from that they had in the menu. Nothing special but worth trying if you’ve never tasted it before. To sum up — good spot for a rainy Monday in Amsterdam, after a rough weekend ;)
