I give this place 3 stars only because it’s not a place I would likely go to again. However… if you are in the mood for some Dutch music, a little bit of history — well it’s very specific history as the walls are covered of photos of the owners and their countless Dutch celebrity encounters — and a come as you are atmosphere, then this may be worth checking out. The service is quick. There’s plenty of seating. Grab a beer. Take a look at the photos. I wouldn’t build my Saturday night around the bar but for it’s worth checking out.

We stopped in here for a quick drink on a Sunday afternoon and it was just fine. Maybe not a typical brown café, but certainly a historical one. The walls are loaded with pictures of the owner throughout the years (although we couldn’t find one of her as a younger woman) posing with various celebrities. We were even told that this was the bar that Dutch tourists came to when they came to visit Amsterdam.
With the fun atmosphere and the friendly staff it is a nice place to stop in for a drink or two.
