It was nice to sit outside and hang out and have some reasonably cheap drinks while people watching by the canal.

Another charming little café, another round of beers! While in Amsterdam I may have lost count of how many we frequented, but made sure to take note of most of them! We stopped by this one after wandering the Red Light District, we ordered two more Amstels and chatted with the staff. There was a man from Portland visiting next to us, and we talked about the migration of Portland-Brooklyn Yuppies. The interior is pretty typical, lit with a red glow, featuring old saloon style seating and TVs. The prices were fair, and we enjoyed the surrounding atmosphere as we sat down to enjoy some beer. A great spot by the river to people watch as well, and convenient for the ambling tourist looking to quench his thirst!

This is an okay place for a session of beer drinking whilst watching people amble by. The outside seating is great for that. There are heaters when it gets cold and table service when you want to order something to drink. It’s got only a standard offering of beers but really the real draw is the location. It’s within the Red Light District to the north of the Oudekerk, on a busy street at an intersection next to a bridge and next to the canal. Located where it is it’s a convenient stop for many tourists needing a break from wandering the area.

Winter time, go for the hot chocolate and rum(i recommend the black over the white). It’s delightful, and the whipped cream is, I think, house made. Super way to warm up on a chilly walk.

Charming place to sit outside of and enjoy a cup of tea. On the very edge of the Red Light District.
