Café Dorst

This bar has one of the better locations in the East of Amsterdam. Situated on the corner, it has a large, sunbathed terrace which is a great spot in the summer. It is also not bad at all in spring and autumn as it provides fleece blankets. Inside has a long bar and some tables. Décor is a bit kitsch, but not distracting. Papers and magazines are freely available at the larger table.
As it is located opposite form the very popular Brouwerij ‘t IJ, it provides a more quiet atmosphere if you would prefer that or if the brewery is filled to the brim.
They have a range of specialty beers, next the your ordinary bar options. They serve some food and snacks, but they aren’t anything special.
They show all Ajax soccer matches and have a monthly pubquiz night on Wednesday, organised by two enthusiasts ensuring custom made questions and surprising rounds.
Definite pro is the quirky owner/​bartender who is always up for a chat at the bar!
