Great little bar right bang in the centre of Amsterdam!
It is a perfect example of the abundant brown cafes in Holland, small places with little light and with a mostly a local and regular crowd. Love the décor with endless amounts of all types of paraphernalia everywhere.
Their menu is simple, with snacks and the usual beers.
Downfall for me is that as in many brown cafes they normally cater for regulars that treat these cafes as their living room, so everybody was smoking inside, which in a normal scenario would be ideal but would not bother me insanely, but in this particular case because the place is so small it made for a bit of unpleasant experience.

This place is quaint dutch delightfulness. The decoy is really nice, with quirky taxidermy.
A great place for a few drinks especially in the warmer months when you can sit outside near the canals.
In the winter months, the big inside room is a smoking room so not ideal if your a non smoker.

Right across the canal from The Toren where we stayed. Beer was nice and cold and inexpensive. Friendly staff and you can sit outside if you chose.

Another nice little neighborhood café/​bar with friendly staff. We sat outside and drank a couple of beers while deciding where we would go next. Also, the bartender had recently met Ron Jeremy (who had been on a promotional tour for his new vodka… why wouldn’t Ron Jeremy go to Amsterdam) and had obtained a full size cutout which he proudly stood up at the entrance. This provided about an hour of ongoing laughs for us and the regulars… especially since they assumed that we, being Americans, would be intimately familiar with Ron and his «films». Anyway… it’s always nice to feel welcome and we did. Beer was cold and inexpensive. Thumbs up.

Great corner brown café…
Lovely place where you can order «a beer». Nothing fancy or pretentious. Goes off on Friday and Sat nights… perfect place to end the night!
