As others have commented, this place has a cozy retro vibe and you order at the counter and pour your own beer/wine…amazingly tasty and generous portions! My husband and I enjoyed the mushroom lasagne (roasted mushrooms, herbs, bechamel sauce and gruyère) with roasted red peppers and roasted fennel for 8.50 euros each plus drinks of course… great value and quality.
The chef and staff were warm and friendly… a true gem of a place! Missing Overtoom !

Cute and cozy 60’s /​70’s retro vibe spot. Friendly staff. This is a very simple place. Not a huge menu but a nice selection. You order yourself at the bar and they yell out your name when your food is ready. I have the tuna melt and it was DELICIOUS!
The prices are great. Free wifi. Excellent music.

This is a charming corner restaurant /​bar with great food and a friendly warm environment. If you are a vegetarian you are in luck! They have a 5.75 euro (for the large plate) nightly buffet with a range of delicious vego options to choose from.

This sandwich place near the Vondel park boasts of a good, spacious
place good for 40 or so people. I went here to meet with GGI people on a Sunday. They had an outside space perfect for good conversations and enjoying the sun. The sandwiches are cheap and satisfying, but nothing extraordinary.

Fantastic cozy little restaurant! The extremely friendly waiter read the menu to us in English, as there is no printed one (they have different specials every day, so they don’t have a printed menu at all). We had burgers with potatoes and vegetables and everything was extremely delicious. The burgers look a bit strange at first glance, as they aren’t served in a bun but on a thick slice of bread, but they were very tasty.
If you want to enjoy real, home cooked food at a very reasonable price (our burgers were under 10.- euros including the sides), this is the place to go. Highly recommended!

Nice interior and concept, and apparently uses local produce. Disappointed by the lunch choices. The buufburger was tasteless as it lacked toppings: it had only salad and red onion (too coarsely chopped), no tomatoes or something else to make it more interesting. Yuppies on laptops with wifi… guess that includes me! :-o
If I come here again it would not be for lunch or supper, but cake/​coffee as it has a nice homely feel and music.

Buuf is new and it is in my neighborhood, so that means Im going to be extra critical but supportive. Located in a spot that has long been bad luck for a string of failed restaurants, buuf is doing really well. Its comfortable, spacious, excellent internet, and laid back staff. The menu, on the other hand is pretty good. My experience is only lunch but Ive seen that at dinner the place is packed so thats worth trying out. ITs true also that there is no such thing as being served at this place but thats part of the charm — they leave you alone! As a working space while enjoying a drink or a snack, it is excellent! Ill be back but Im still figuring this place out.
