We walked from the Old Towne a block into the redlight district and then down an ivy-lined alleyway. The restaurant was in the rear. The vibe was low-key and cool, although a raucous group celebrating the opening of a new business livened things up. The food was excellent, the staff member who was serving us(hesitant to describe him as a waiter) came over, pulled up a chair, and described the dishes to us. There was no printed menu. We made our selections, and then waited. The food came out at its own pace(leisurely), but was in each case delicious. Quail egg on tuna carpaccio was unusual, but spectacular, and the chicken breast with foie gras excellent. We had skate, as well, and a perfectly cooked chocolate soufflé for dessert. A very enjoyable evening. We were shocked by the price; it was not inexpensive, but not as expensive as we thought it might be due to the level of personal service. A very fair value for an interesting experience and high quality food, but don’t expect to be in and out quick.

Excellent restaurant and great food and service. I was there alone. I had the monk fish starter which was light and super tasty. I followed it with the quail ravioli which was out of this world. I then had the risotto and the cheese plate. All drowned with tasty wines and a port wine with the cheese. Will return for sure. Expensive but it’s nice to treat yourself.

Accessible, delicious, friendly, unique. It was a close race, but this meal has become the #1 meal we have ever eaten. Absolutely worth the money.

Very eclectic, wonderfully presented, well paired for wine. Great dining experience. I was very surprised at the knowledge of the waiter. The portions are small, but four courses for the prix fixe were perfect.

Wow and again wow … Simply just a wow restaurant. We had heard before about it and that why we decided to try it out. To begin with its right in the middle of the red light district but on a spot that you could never see it. I for sure have passed at least a dozen times outside the place and never paid any attention. So this gives it the mystery and exclusive feeling. Now food wise well they have a set menu and its simply amazing everything on it was prepared to perfection and the flavors were just soooo yiammy. The wine list was kinda of small but very well organised and with wines fromn Europe and across the sea. We went for an Italian Barrolo and a Spanish Rioja. Excellent choices. And now for the service well what can i say … Simply a 5 start treatment. we were attended to all our needs and there was always someone watching our table. I would recommend this to EEEEEEEEEveryone. For the locals is a must do for the tourists a must try

We absolutely loved this place. The food was fantastic, the service was terrific, and the location was ironic. At first, we were quite skeptical because of the location(it’s smack in the red light district), but once you walk through the seemingly seedy arches, you are transformed to a very cute, chic, and warm atmosphere. My co-workers had recommended it when they were on a business trip and I’m so glad they did. We ordered almost everything on the menu(which changes every several weeks) and highlights were all the fish and assorted seafood dishes. The only disappointment was our lamb(but by the time you’re reading this, the menu has probably already changed). Wine list was pretty extensive and the recommendations were good. Will be back. I think about $ 75US per person — our bill ended up close to $ 200US(with more than enough wine).

For a special meal in Amsterdam go here. The staff make you feel very special. We sat on the second floor and were able to see the masters at work in the kitchen. Had the 4 course dinner each bite was amazing. Do book in advance.

Amazing food and service! Every bite was delicious and there were many flavor explosions and delightful surprises! Dinner is served as a 3 or 4 course meal(your choice). It was $ 55 per person for 3 courses tonight. We enjoyed the amuse buche, bread with olive oil, tuna appetizer, cod main coarse, and strawberry tart SO much!!! The servers are also very knowledgeable and kind. Highly recommended to anyone!

My wife and I celebrated our 15th anniversary here on the recommendation of my local business contact, and it was fabulous. A bit hard to find, and you may think that you are going to stumble upon a sex show instead of a white-linen restaurant, but don’t be afraid to pull back the curtain. The setting is intimate(3 – 5 tables each on three floors), our server was fantastic and really made us feel welcome and at home, and the food was all first rate. On the expensive side(225 euros for two with drinks), but well worth it.

This place is fantastic! Slightly hidden down an alley in the Red Light District, it’s worth the search! They take reservations and speak english very well(doesn’t everyone in Amsterdam?) It’s small when you walk in(I’ve heard there is additional seating upstairs) and very charming with a warm ambiance. It’s prix fixe(around 55 euros/pp) with two choices available for each course. We decided to order one of each to try everything offered. The food was very good and met our expectations. The waitstaff was incredibly welcoming and courteous, and VERY passionate about the food. You could tell in the way they lovingly described everything on each dish. We let them pair each of our dishes with different wines — they did a great job and picked very reasonably priced wines. We got engaged here and the staff was quick to run over with champagne and congratulations(they didn’t know beforehand). I had read that lots of chefs and celebrities come here(we saw Carla Hall from Top Chef) and it’s not surprising given the quality and discretion of the restaurant. Worth a visit if you are in Amsterdam!

Okay… total delay in this post… yep, like a THREEYEAR delay… but after tirelessly recommending this place to everyone who travels to Amsterdam… I figured I should actually type something up to make it official. I remember walking up to the«address» for this restaurant and thinking that my friends had set me up for a practical joke… something along the lines of «Let’s see if we can get Kim to walk down a graffiti riddled alleyway in the Red Light District»…well, I am certainly glad that I elected to be brave and enter the unknown. The service at this establishment is beyond compare. Their suggestions for wine pairings is impeccable. The food is delectable; from the heartier plates to the vegetarian offerings! Now…if only I can find my way back to the alleyway sooner versus later… a definite repeat experience!
