My boyfriend and I stayed at Hotel Delphi for 3 nights recently(July 2014), and after reading old reviews lets just say this hotel exceeded our expectations by far. Besides our delicious complimentary breakfast, this hotel had excellent customer service from start to finish. Each employee at the front desk always greeted us with a smile, helped with directions, and answered all of our questions in detail. While the rooms were somewhat small(which is common in many Amsterdam hotels), our room and entire floor looked renovated and quite modernized yet the building still felt very authentic to the city. We were also able to rent bikes from Delphi and it was only a 10 minute ride to Vondelpark! There’s free wifi in the rooms(with a computer in the lobby if you didn’t bring your own), our room had a balcony overlooking a nice garden, beautiful neighborhood, and the price for the room was worth every penny! Lastly, the tram stop is less than a 5 minute walk and can take you practically anywhere in the city. The only thing preventing me from giving a 5 star rating is because the hotel is more casual and nothing glamorous compared to some expensive 5 stars, but I would highly recommend this place and will hopefully be staying again sometime in the future.

We visited this hotel in 2010 and again in May 2013. While consistency may be good for McDonalds, one expects hotels to continuously renovate and improve, especially when the prices continue to rise. The Delphi looked worse than it did previously and their decorator seems to have abandoned them in the early 90’s. The staff were efficient. Even more annoying is their outrageous price. After a three week European holiday in 17 different hotels, this one at the end of our vacation was the most plain and the highest priced. I will not be back in another three years!

I have stayed here twice in the last two years. Good location. Clean. Good service. But don’t believe the room photos on their website; actual rooms are more than adequate but have not been renovated in several years.
