As I’m exploring different places to grab a sit, have good coffee and work, Belcampo is a great place for all that. With a good mix of people from all ages and activity range — kids playing, parents watching, newspaper readers, tablet readers, students bookmarking, young professionals typing, all professionals meeting. Coffee is great too, coming straight from Lot61, a neighbor coffee roasting spot with a great selection of tasty beans. But all that for another review. As food goes Belcampo has a very fixed menu from toasti’s, day soup and a variety of cakes. Everything here is straightforward so don’t expect sugar alternatives on your carrot cake, nor a wide range of milk alternative, as offered at Coffee Room. Again for future review. But music here is good, playing softly in the background and light as well. And if you’re done with work, like i seem to be right now, way not go out and check a film just next door?

Iphone users need to recharge a lot, this is a good place to do so. While waiting for: 100% to appear on my screen I’m ordering a espresso macchiato at the bar. The girl seems bored and/or exhausted. With a bland«i’ll be right [mumble mumble]» i await my turn. She does serve it at the table, but with an equally uninspired swagger. The coffee is a bit sour, the kids are a 100times louder than is good for them(damn those high ceilings!) and yes the lack of sleep doesn’t help my judgement. So to end with some positive notes: — on the window side where i’m sitting there are 3 sockets, each of them enabling to plug in 2 precious iphones at a time — there’s free wifi — there are glossy magazines — if you get the chance, there are sofas to sit on. I reckon there are days that every self employed hipster with a laptop from the neighbourhood will occupy this place, I would too if only it was closer to home. For now I can advise to get your air book here on a Friday starting from 13.00 onwards(they close at 18.00) TGIF
