OK spot to have breakfast and lunch, but the menu was not so extensive in my opinion. We had the BLT sandwich and the chicken avocado + 2 fresh juices. I liked the juices the sandwich were a bit lean to say. For that price you expect to have a least a full egg worth on it not ½. The chicken was pre-packed chicken instead of rotiserie. Good for quick in and out if you want, but not to have a never to be forgotten breakfast or lunch. They do have high tea — but did not try this.

Situated between the middle and working class neighborhoods of the Rivierenbuurt, and Gangsterville(the Scheldebuurt) where if you get run over by a car on a pedestrian crossing, at least you can take comfort in the fact that it’s likely to be a Maserati, Aston Martin or Range Rover that will bring you to your untimely end, is @7. For the British readers of this review, rejoice! @7 serves scones with clotted cream, and they are tastier than a Dutch lady in Birkenstocks having a cigarette on a terrace while shouting orders to her partner on the things he needs to buy when he goes shopping. @7 is well lit. Which is very handy as you can play a game of ‘who’s had a botox top up and who is natural.’ Apart from the aforementioned scones, they also do a pretty good club sandwich and a good selection of smoothies. They also know the difference between a Latte Macchiato and a Koffie Verkeerd, which sadly a lot of places in Amsterdam do not.(Yes I’m talking about you C&T) It’s well worth hanging out there, especially if you love people watching. It’s like being part of a wildlife documentary spotting the different kinds of species that enter. 1. The glamorous older woman with a tiny little lapdog that looks embarrassed to be seen with her. 2. The spoilt daddy’s girl whose smartphone is in a Chanel case, and who wears dark glasses indoors even though the place is a brightly lit as a red light district window. She also makes a big show of where to rest her Louis Vuitton or Michael Kors handbag. 3. The happy divorcee, spending the afternoon getting slightly sozzled drinking prosecco from the proceeds of the divorce settlement. Happy days. I go for the scones, but keep going back to watch the people. Een aanrader!

This was the perfect meal. I had espresso while waiting for the pumpkin soup and tuna melt. Everything was delicious and the people were friendly. Service wasn’t slow but they could have brought me the soup first if it was just a matter of ladling out a bowl. The portions were large. Either of the items was a substantial meal. I had had nothing to eat for a day so it was not too much for me. I’m not sure if it was the espresso or something special about the food but I left feeling really happy.

Perfect café to grab a bite or drink, and chill or do some work. Spacious venue with lots of tables(there’s a huge communal table in the back with a view of their homey garden. The mackerel sandwich was delicious. Love their fresh juices and of course, the coffee. A+!

inspired by all those burger pics that fellow helpers have posted recently, I decided to indulge a bit. I loved my burger with grilled steak and excellent salad. nice fresh bun as well. the fries were excellent as well, thinly sliced and made with a bit of cow fat, the Belgian/French way. I really like their terrace. service was very friendly, although maybe a bit slow if you’re in a hurry, which I wasn’t

This spot is more about décor but the food is ok. More like a Coffee spot than a full on breakfast meal spot. Coffee and toast or muffin is the way to go. I had the scrambled eggs which is pretty basic, good apple pie though. It’s affordable under 10 euros for coffee and meal which isn’t too bad in Amsterdam. It’s kind of like Starbucks with limited items with would be the best way to describe the spot. Service is ok. It’s a better alternative than say a fast food breakfast. Price — Reasonable for quick run breakfast Atmosphere — Café décor, more like a coffee shop café than a restaurant Category — Coffee shop/Diner Taste — OK, average. At least if you want something a bit more food it’s a good compromise if it just a toast or croissant it’s not enough food if you know what I mean. Service — OK service.

The food here is quite basic and nothing I would recommend, but the atmosphere is cozy. I’d come back for a coffee and free wifi, but not for a meal. The staff are nice. The service was decent, but this seems more like a spot for tourists wanting to grab a quick croissant or simple sandwich on the go. Not really worth the expense if I could make much better at home. But do come for coffee, a smoothie or wifi.

Most Amsterdam breakfasts open at 9−10am, which is much to late for my taste. This place was a perfect place to go for an early breakfast. Their croissant was the most perfect one I’ve ever seen, and their smoked salmon sandwich was absolutely delectable. Greek yogurt is also a great choice here, as they give a pretty big serving with a variety of fruits. Oh I forgot, also the best cappuccino in Amsterdam. Something tells me that this place is a hot spot for people who wrk in finance or something, as everyone there at 8am was wearing a suit and tie.

Mimosas for breakfast anyone? I so miss Mimosas on Sundays for brunch! Although, Amsterdam is not so big on brunch spots. I noticed a lovely café to enjoy Breakfast, Lunch and High tea on the terrace. At Seven is a lovely café to relax and enjoy breakfast, High tea or lunch south of Amsterdam. I was limited to what I could eat here but if you have no dietary restrictions, then it’s the best place to eat. I was so happy that I ran across this place, so now I know where to take my girlfriends for Sunday brunch or High tea when they visit me in Amsterdam. High tea @ Seven serves an elaborate display of light sandwiches, pastries, and dessert items with Mimosas!
