Amstel Hotel

From start to finish the best hotel experience I’ve ever had, period. As soon as I arrived I was cordially greeted by valet. When I entered the hotel I was immediately welcomed by the reception team who offered me a drink and local snack as I checked in. They were incredibly friendly and made sure every part of my arrival was taken care of; including parking my car and having my luggage brought to my room.
I was then personally escorted to my room and shown all of the features and amenities. I absolutely fell in love with the room and view. So much so that I decided to cancel my trip to Brussels the next day and stay an extra night in Amsterdam. The room was spectacular and being able to open the windows and enjoy the picturesque canals was incredible.
The hotel concierge provided some great recommendations for eateries and a bike route. I was also able to rent a bike directly from the hotel which was extremely convenient. Seeing the city by bike is a must!
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Intercontinental Amstel, and can’t wait to return. I want to especially thank the in-​house reservations department for making my extended stay possible. They went out of their way to make sure everything was flawless, and for that I am extremely grateful. I don’t think that there’s anywhere else in the world that can top this hotel experience. Thank you again.

One of the finest places to stay in Europe! Beautiful with wonderful food. Great public transportation, but walk as much as you can. The food, the staff and the décor is stunning! There are two restaurants and they are both excellent! If it is too much of a cost to stay here for you, at least stop by for a look!

This place is a 5 star. Don’t listen to the critical Unilocalers. You don’t get anything like this anywhere else in Europe. The service is better here than anywhere. Yeah it’s pricey. But you get what you pay for. If you don’t like that remember the Marriott is still open. The food is also great, when it’s nice outside you can sit out on the back patio and enjoy the canal view. I can’t say enough about the staff. They are great they will help you with anything and make your stay most enjoyable. Don’t pass up the opportunity to stay here. Stayed here just a few days ago on 6.24.15 for about three days.

Very nice. Pricey. Did this on points so not quite as painful vs. spending cash. Problem with first room we checked into. After we complained and asked to move all was fine. Nice fitness /​relaxation area. The pool isn’t suitable for serious swimming. Would stay again. Think older people, rich girls’ getaways and high end business clientele.

This is a beautiful hotel located on the water front. They have a nice outside lounge area and delicious place to have dinner.

I just walked by this Gem and was hungry so decided to stop by. Amazing food. 3 course meal for € 36 in Amsterdam with Amazing view of Canal.

Recently went to high tea in the garden room and it was great! There was a lot of food and it was all very inventive and higher quality than the typical high tea fare. The price was also reasonable for such impeccable service and surroundings. I would definitely recommend the high tea with a group to celebrate any event.

Worth a trip to Holland to just stay here!!! VERY good service… great location/​awesome place.

De luxe… probably the nicest Hotel in town… I was just there to meet friends so it is not to be taken as a review of the Hotel itself… but rather the site.
Perfect location on the Amstel canal, very close to the centre but not int he center so you are a bit out of the messy crowded areas.
Definitely a top location for top visitors.

Great place for high tea with family and friends! Best terrace @ water in Amsterdam. Part of the Intercontinental Hotel Group. Do i need to say more? Best Hotel in Amsterdam and Restaurant La Rive is perfect.

A friend and I went here for High Tea. Truly impeccable service. I am a vegetarian. The made a special selection just for me. The madelines were out of this world. It was worth every euro. When I am back in Amsterdam I will definitely be coming back to enjoy the river and the tea. Thank you for a wonderful afternoon.

I am top tier in all major hotel chains due to my job requires daily travel. I only stayed at the Amstel 1 night but it was amazing. From being greeted out front until the end of our stay the service was amazing. I had a junior suite that was overlooked the river and it was beautiful. I recommend this to anyone going and want a guaranteed pleasant stay. They make you feel welcome and appreciated unlike any other hotel I have stayed. I just booked for 6 nights in August.
