Very cute hotel in Amsterdam. We checked in on the FOURTH floor where reception is located. The staff was super sweet and gave us some helpful ideas for dinner. Great location within walking distance to De Foodhallen and the Van Gogh musuem. Very close to transportation! We stayed from January 2nd to January 7th. On our 2nd night stay, we came back around 10pm to discover that the maids had left all 3 of our windows open. It was raining all afternoon and evening. The wood floor was soaked and the room was freezing. The manager came down to our room to personally mop up the water and assess the damage. He offered a new room to stay in for the night. As and added convenience, we had the choice of switching to a bigger room for no additional charge. We immediately moved our belongings in 4 trips down the hall. The manager even provided a small complimentary bottle of wine. We settled into our new room quickly. It was very comfortable and more spacious than the previous one. They offer an all you can eat breakfast in the morning. A lovely woman prepares food of your choice, hot and fresh. Be aware that this is an additional charge. She is an independent business and is not affiliated with the hotel. On our final night stay, we asked reception about rides to the airport. We are glad that we did! They were able to call a private car service to take us to the airport. We were able to get a very luxurious Mercedes van to take a group of 5 to the SCHIPOL airport for 40 euros. This was significantly cheaper than UBER. Please ensure that you have cash prior to taking the ride. Amadi Park Hotel was very cozy and very modern. We enjoyed our stay!!!

The Amadi Park Hotel has really split me for writing a review and star rating. Some aspects are truly 5 star and others 1 – 2 star so a mid rating generally covers it. We have been on a two week tour of the Netherlands & Holland and the hotels in Amsterdam are much more expensive than anywhere else we have stayed. I had real bother finding a decent hotel that wasn’t € 500 plus for two nights. The Amadi Park was € 385 euros for two people for two nights. This included two breakfasts, the city tax and a € 20 arranged later check out charge. The hotel itself is very unusual. It is in a building with other businesses and apartments. You can see the open courtyard aspect from my picture. The reception is on the 4th floor. When we first arrived no one answered the buzzer to let us in the front door, we tailgated someone else going into the building and got to the reception to find an empty desk. I rang the bell a few times and after about another 5 minutes I found a doorbell on the wall outside the 4th floor reception which finally alerted the receptionist that we were waiting. Now we were slightly early to check in but not good first impressions. However our room was ready and we were shown to it. The hotel, I presume have purchased apartments in the building and converted them into three hotel rooms per apartment. You get an apartment number then you go into an internal hall to you room. The room was pretty small with just enough room to get around the bed, however it was very modern and had a high spec finish to the lighting & décor. A powerful shower which was bliss! plush bedding and dressing gowns and the best part was a free mini bar replaced each day which had two cans of coke, two bottles of water and two bottles of beer. We made sure we had those and it was a nice touch. The breakfast on the first day and the second day were differing in standards. The first day we got shown to our table and had made to order pancakes and scrambled eggs, the best orange juice and tasty latté coffees. The second day we found our own table and had to ask for cutlery, ask for juice, ask for bowls for cereal, ask for breakfast, it wasn’t good. The breakfast was tasty but only member of staff was concentrating on cooking the breakfast in the open plan kitchen counter not replenishing anything or clearing tables or re-setting tables. Now you may think I am being harsh, but I’m not, firstly I have done my time as a student working breakfast shifts in big hotels and secondly there are 7 tables! The team is 5 minute walk and connects well to town. The hotel location is just outside the main centre of Amsterdam but still by a canal. This is a 4 star hotel but doesn’t always act like it. Nice but a bit pricey. They kindly let us use the coffee lounge after we checked out as we had plenty of time to kill before going to the airport.
