I don’t really know how many stars to give this place.
Originally I was gonna gove it 3 stars but the chocolate cake saved the day. As it always does.
I have eaten at bosco many times now. Everytime it was different. It’s kind of a hit and miss kind of place. Which normally I would not return to but their chocolate cake is heavenly!
The food at bosco is sometimes really good and sometimes really bad.
As a vegetarian I’ve noticed they don’t really have much of a vegetarian selection. It’s almost everytime pasta dish. Sometimes a really bad pasta dish.
But what always saves the day and what brings me back everytime is their chocolate cake. Unbelievably simple but delicious.
The atmosphere is nice, they have a great terrace on sunny days, service is always good.

This restaurant is in a mostly locals area. Nice restaurant with lots of space and a nice patio area. The service was good and more attentive than most European restaurants. I went for breakfast and the food was very good, so was the very freshly squeezed orange juice, pretty good coffee.

I’ve just eaten a delicious croissant, had a fresh glass of orange juice, and am currently enjoying an eye-​opening espresso in this cozy, well appointed café. If you are visiting Amsterdam and looking to get away from the tourists, I highly recommend this place. Breakfast and lunch from 8am to 4pm; I haven’t seen a dinner menu, don’t know if there is one.

These reviews are old. We ate here several times in June 2014 and service and food were excellent. The fish and chicken were delicious. Many customers were enjoying their steak dinner. Lovely outdoor dining in nice weather but we preferred to watch the action in the open kitchen. Highly recommended.

I give them an extra star for trying really, really hard.
But the food is unfortunately just not very good. The ribeye had about a 50 gram lump of fat and gristle just hanging there — uggh.
Great beer though. I’d definitely hang out, have a beer & play a board game, and if I were hungry, ordering something very simple and hoping it would turn out OK.

On our last day we found this place and it turned out to serve the best food we had on our entire stay, I didn’t want it to be over it was so good.
Staff are so genuine & pleasant.
Oh! there is free wifi and board games.
Well worth it.

Sunday. Text some friends to meet for a beer and it turns out they are at Bosco. What you think will be an innocent beer on a Sunday afternoon turns into a brunch eating, Jenga playing, multiple beer drinking, and scotch sipping afternoon. Why? Well, Bosco has a pretty cool set up. It is light insight, and comfortable. Board games and other games sit upon tables. The food is pretty good. I had an Uitsmeijter… huge! Nice toast with three eggs and cheese on top… very filling and tasty. My friends had eaten there before I arrived and then enjoyed it.
Staff is friendly and I’ll definitely be back!
