Thought we would give this place a go, coffee was ok, not outstanding though sorry. Our breakfast — lunch was tasty, no complaints. View was wonderful, we sat outdoors — they could expand on this area, great potential to add more cosiness; block the little area off and include some funky outdoor furniture and wall art! Table service by the lady was friendly, efficient and more than 3 stars! The man behind the counter wasn’t as friendly, but not rude either, the conversation just went a bit wierd when we started to talk food politics, we had complimented him on the menu choices for ethical ingredients and suppliers, he laughed and said yes, people are more concerned about this nowadays(in so many words), then laughed some more…

There are not many occasions that summon me out to the Te Atatu Peninsula. When I get there, I’m always overwhelmed by the stunning view back towards the City of Sails, the relaxed neighbourhood and the quality of the cafes and restaurants. The Servo Café was my first introduction to the beauty of the food of the wild West. When I lived in Waterview, I was proud to call Servo’s my local. A couple of minutes along the motorway was a small price to pay for the best brunch in Auckland. I was introduced to it by a vegetarian friend who raved about the breakfasts. With Roasted Addiqtion being her benchmark, this Westie café must be pretty sharp! Now it is on my must do list of Auckland — yes, it’s THAT good. Housed in an adapted service station on the corner of 2 roads(hence the name), Servo’s does cabinet food, licensed drinks, pizza & a great selection of classic brunch & lunch dishes, with a few innovative takes on the average Auckland brunch menu. My ultimate fave; the dish that keeps me coming back for more; my recommendation for those new to Servo’s delights — Golden Smoked Kahawai & Herbed Potato Cake w-Servo Hollandaise, Poached Free Range Egg & Spinach. And in my opinion, it’s even better with a side of bacon! My vego mate salivates over the Vegetarian Kiwi Breakfast: Free Range eggs cooked to your liking, Grilled Tomato, Field Mushrooms, Servo Hash Browns, Spinach & Toast. Yumarama! The meat lover’s version of this also lives up to it’s reputation. Servo’s hash browns are a legend unto themselves: golden, deep-fried spoonfuls of homemade goodness. No McCain’s frozen rubbish here thank you very much. To be honest, this place is so good, I’ve been here enough times to sample almost the entire menu. The pizzas are amazing, the Portobello Mushroom breakfast served on Brioche will blow your mind, and Eggs Benedict connoisseurs I’ve taken here have drooled at the mouth. And the corn fritters are pretty damn good too. If brunch doesn’t grab you — as I said, the pizzas are great, and the Caesar Salad & Calamari Salad would rival some of Auckland’s fine dining establishments.

Great food and service. Love the corn fritters especially. Coffee is also great. Only downside is it’s a wee bit expensive, but doesn’t stop us frequenting for brunch!

Servo used to be the café my friends and I would frequent every Sunday morning, ready for a big breakfast and coffee and pineapple juice. Their eggs were perfect, the coffee perfect. They were always busy and you’d sometimes have to wait a while. But unfortunately they have changed owners since then and it’s just not the same. It looks a bit dirty and run down, the coffee is poor and the food nothing to write home about. They do have an outdoor seating part though so you can bring your dog, which is a definite plus. Hopefully they sort it out and Servo goes back to the bustling place it once was.

A personal favourite of mine, located in Te Atatu Peninsula. Coffee is always excellent and you can mull over your flat white while taking in a great view of the city. Foodwise, the hearty big breakfast is a treat and is great hangover food. My wife always gets the corn fritters and is never disappointed. There is a relaxed vibe in the café and unlike some of the other cafes in the peninsula, you can generally get a seat on the weekends.
