After travelling at least 10 minutes to the next town to try somewhere new, we were not disappointed in our lunch. I had the Cherokee Chicken and my wife had Gold Miners Chicken. Both felt suitable filled afterwards.

I think most Papakura locals share a love/​hate relationship with Stampede. Love because it’s actually the only half decent pub in Papakura, and hate because of the exact same reason. You’re not from around here if you haven’t ended up at the Stampede Bar at least one time before. I’ve had a few outings here over the years, seen live bands, had some after work drinks, played some pool, and I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed the times spent here.
As for the pub itself, it’s not too bad. Well equipped and spacious for live bands, DJ’s and dancing, but not the kind of place I’d want to make my regular watering hole. They do some cheap drinks here at certain times which is always a good thing. I’ve never tried the food though so I can’t comment on it.
