While the look of this place is very cute, the staff and overall experience is pretty poor. The coffee is average, the staff are zombies, and this makes Little Nuffield a waste of time — especially considering the wealth of better options nearby.

This place is great!!! Awesome coffee, great vibe, best coffee shop prices I’ve seen in Auckland. Not to mention two cool chatty baristas Grabbed a muffin and sandwich for later, so glad I stopped in.

I love everything about this tiny little coffee shop, tucked away in the middle of Nuffield Street. They sell amazing coffee(NZ fave Allpress) and even better snacks. Honorable mention here must go to the chocolate tart. It’s insane: just the right amount of gooey chocolate set atop rich crumbly pastry and just the remedy for a mid-afternoon sugar hit. I used to work near here and every day could never resist the gorgeous aroma emanating from here. It’s only a tiny space, but inside it’s really nicely decorated. It’s all rich reds and browns with cute little mosaic tiles all over. It’s got a real cosy and homely vibe to it. The staff are always really friendly and super quick, even though the queue piles out into Nuffield Street on some mornings. This little place has well and truly put me off Starbucks for life!

This is an adorable dinky little hole in the wall that specializes in coffee and a little something to go with said coffee. They like to call it a coffee and lunch box instead of a café because you can’t sit in. It’s a great idea in my mind as you can just stop on your way past. It’s so teeny, when I said hole in the wall earlier I really meant just that, but it looks great! They have a big sign at the back that is knitted!!! Seriously cool as well as a big old coffee machine and a multi-coloured tiled counter. Oh and their coffee is pretty darn amazing too, I suppose I had better mention that! They also offer loose leaf teas, iced coffees and lots of edible treaties such as muffins and slices. I have always had excellent friendly service and quality barista skills whenever I have visited.

It’d been a while since I’d last walked down Nuffield Street and had a shop, but I was pleasantly surprised by my discovery of Little Nuffield. A tiny wee café tucked between retail stores, Little Nuffield’s delicious aroma of coffee lured me inside. Little Nuffield use Allpress coffee beans — a fantastic thing for all us coffee lovers! Allpress is a guaranteed good cup of coffee every time. Aside from this bonus, I fell in love with Little Nuffield due to designs of both its menu and sign. The menu is drawn on a blackboard wall in chalk, but looks like an old piece of parchment or scroll — it’s really funky and due to the small interior of the café it adds to the cosy atmosphere. Then there is the Little Nuffield sign inside which is mad entirely out of coo loured cotton. Wound around around each letter to create a multicoloured and textured sign, I couldn’t take my eyes of it. It was great! Really original and well suited to the trendy Newmarket scene. Tip: Though pretty tiny inside, Little Nuffield does offer outdoor seating under umbrellas.

Little Nuffield is little as it’s name suggests but I rate the coffee big! The beans are Allpress and although not the only peddler of Allpress coffee on Nuffield Street sometimes it is a bit quicker if you just want a take out coffee because the coffee machine is literally on the footpath and the wait time isn’t long. There is a small range of cabinet food available and they stock the Phoenix drink range too. For some reason I like drinking cola with my short blacks and the organic honey nut cola pairs nicely with espresso. If you do want to sit there are three bar stools, maybe four and there is a table outside under a tree with an umbrella so you don’t get pooped on by all the birds that live in that tree. Nice little café is Little Nuffield.
