Love coming here for both morning and lunch time. Had tried both the sweet and savoury crepes. They are simply delicious ! Love watching them make it in front of you also, highly recommend to others.

I think half the fun is watching the creeps be made. It’s like an art in itself. The only other place I’ve had a crêpe was in France, and these were just as wonderful. The only downside is having too many options. No matter what I were to choose, there’d be someone ordering a different sweet or savory that I’d wished I’d ordered. In this case, I was craving something sweet and got the strawberrys and caramel Nutella… then saw the«savory» ham, cheese, egg and carmalized onion one my brother bought and wanted to switch when he wasn’t looking. I guess the solution to my dilema would be to go in a group and order a bunch of sweet or savory, then share. The location of Crepes a gogo is right on the water and in the middle of everything so you can also order pizza or nachos right next door and make a meal of it all.

The crêpe was good but the service was terrible. Want to serve your waiting customers rather than chat to each other?

I heard French being spoken so I was immediately drawn in. That, and I happen to love crêpes. Totally missed out on the fact that they had galettes(savory crêpes) available, so I opted for the Nutella crêpe since you can’t go wrong when Nutella is involved. I grabbed a seat at the«free-for-all» table, and watched the chef do his thing. He handed out a couple of crêpes before mine, one appeared to be a Chocoberry(chocolate, berry sauce and whipped cream) which looked like red and white heaven. I received mine, thanked him in French, after which he got really excited. «Je parle un peu(I speak a little),» I told him, so that he didn’t get too carried away. Armed with my pizza slicer and fork, I dove in. I was trying to match the pace of the couple across from me so I didn’t appear to scarf the crêpe down. I tried to savor it, really I did, but when it’s that tasty, you just want it all in your mouth right then. I was sad that it was gone, handing my wooden board back to the chef. «C’est bon?» he asked. «Superb,» I replied, showing the quintessential«OK» sign and winking. Waving and saying«à bien tôt», I knew then I had to come back.

Crepes A Go Go is a great quick bite for lunch. Located in Ponsonby Central it’s a cute small stall inside, with a couple of sharing tables and a bar table that sits in front of the stall itself. The owners who originate from France aim to bring a taste of France to NZ serving savoury and sweet, galettes and crepes made from buckwheat, which is a great option for those who are gluten free. Between the two of us we shared 1 savoury galette and 1 sweet crêpe. What’s a great idea are the pizza cutters that are served on the side. It makes it easier to slice smoothly and neatly to share the crepes evenly. The crepes themselves were good especially since they are made of buckwheat. The fillings weren’t extraordinary but they are what you can expect when ordering a crêpe, plus they are something light to eat. For the price and the size they were fitting and would go back to crepes a go go again for a quick bite. If you’re really hungry I suggest ordering 3 crepes between two people. Lovely service and something light to eat if you’re in Ponsonby. Ordered the Sweet temptation crêpe from the sweet menu which came with either lemon or passion(my choice) curd. Got a little paper ticket and an approx time wait which was helpful. They have a kitchen bench as well as a large communal table to the side for seating. Small stack of magazines to read while waiting and neat compost bags to take home. Quite busy on a Saturday brunch but worth the wait. Fresh crêpe placed on a larger wooden chopping board with a fork and pizza cutter for a knife. Very clever and simple. Came folded over with a small chocolate fish, dusted with icing sugar. Yum! Quite filling. Friends did one and half of crepes– one sweet and savoury. Very cool place– need to come back to try more sweet ones and to sample a savoury creation also.

Who doesn’t crave a lovely crêpe once in a while? Well, if you find yourself in Ponsonby Central, Crêpes A Go-Go has got you covered. They have a nice selection of savory and sweet crêpes(veggie options too) — prepared in front of you amidst french banter(this helps in the authenticity department). Crêpes are presented on wooden cutting boards, pizza cutter knife included. They use organic buckwheat for the batter and you can get a free range egg for an extra $ 1.50. I went for the«Taste of Provence» with creamy feta, tomatoes, olive oil and fresh basil($ 10). Very good. I also noticed that they offer a 10% discount for those students among us, nice. With tons of options at PC, I can’t proclaim this my all-time favorite but, if you are after a pancake francaise, this is your jam. Tip: there’s a small bar seating area around the crêpe-making station and a large shared table behind it — but beware, most tables in PC are«free for all» and sometimes finding a spot isn’t so «facile» ;)

CONCEPT: Fresh Crepes made to orders. A selection of savory or sweet. Can eat there or takeaway. Presentation of Crepes have been considered and I find is the highlight. Served on a wooden board with pizza cutter and fork. DESIGN: Compact. Cooking, prep, point of sales, seating are all squeezed into a small area. Can accommodate for about16 people(counted haha). Bulkhead design is okaaaaay, it’s a collage that is quite distracting to the menu and the logo. Open theatre kitchen where customers can sit in front of a glass upstand and get lost in the Crepes making process(4 or 5 seater). Large wooden communal high table with long bench seats can seat 12 hungry adults. TASTE: okaaaaaaaaaaaaay but only because I ordered something very normal? Their savory Crepes do sound amazingggg but I only tried the plain Nutella banana crêpe. Don’t get me wrong, I can live off Nutella and bananas(and maybe some gym) but I feel like I paid $ 7.50 for the experience rather than the food? HYPE: high. Is it me or is Auckland really good at hyping things up? CONCLUSION: check it out. I would go again to try them savory Crepes(and potentially change to a 4 star rating) then probably go find more food to eat in that area(because why not Hahaha)

Awesome French crepes. Got savoury and sweet options. Very reasonably priced and good big portion. Thoroughly enjoyed the old classic Nutella and lemon sugar crepes. Just wish they open later than 6pm during the week.

* Pizza cutters instead of knives * I heard the staff speaking French… * I think we confused them with our ordering style, but whatever came out was good * I like nutella. I use one of those rubber spatula things to get all the nutella out as the jar is approaching its nadir * We had a crêpe with nutella on it…

A great new addtion to Ponsonby Central, Crepes A Go-Go is located right at the back of the building, next to Eighthirty. It’s easiest — provided it’s not manic — to park out back and then it’s just in the door on your left. The have a tonne of different crepes and galettes — at least 10 savoury and sweet options — and the guys and girls who work here are actually French. God, I love French accents! Since it was my first time I opted for a relatively safe option — a croque monsieur. It was huuuge and delicious — full of tasty free farmed pork and stringy cheese. The perfect hangover cure! There’s a couple of bar seats around if you want to eat in but my date and I decided to take our crepes to the park down the road and eat them on the park seats — much more pleasant if it’s nice out!

A tasty new addition to Ponsonby Central. Tucked back behind the wine shop, don’t miss this little taste of Paris here in Auckland. Well known for their shop in Wellie, we’ve now got our very own! A sweet little stall in the back corner, with a bar and some nice high tables next to it. You can watch the lovely French women craft your crêpe before your very eyes! Lots of options in sweet(try the caramello with homemade caramel — instant sugar high) and savory galette(gluten free, sugar free, organic buckwheat batter used) styles. Plenty of options for substitution for us vegetarians, even an option with hummus instead of cheese! I’d like to try each and every one. Beautifully presented with a whimsical pizza cutter instead of a knife. Oui oui, I’ll be back!
