It’s in a strange location but not too hard to find. Drinks were delicious and my only complaint is too much food for too little money! I ordered the mocachete 2 item lunch with a kilo of tortillas. It could have fed 3 people. Very tasty food! The staff was attentive and some entertainment rolled around.

We were unsure where to go in the area. The guy on the street got us intrigued but we didn’t believe him that it was good because he looked like he was the owner. After asking other local stores in the area they all recommended this restaurant. ITWASWORTHIT! Best Mexican food! We got the fajitas, enchiladas and quesadillas. Everything was sooo good!

My husband were walking around looking for a place to eat for dinner and the owner(I think) was out front and invited us inside. He even offered free guacamole so we said ok! So glad we ate here! The view was fun and the food was great! We were here back in November so I’m not sure exactly what we ordered, but everything was good! Prices were good too! We would def recommend this restaurant!

Located on the Malecon in downtown Puerto Vallarta, this is the classic restaurant in town for the past 50 years. The owner/chef is very accommodating to large groups, willing to push tables together, provide a fan to keep the air moving and everyone comfortable and make sure everything is just right. The food was mediocre the night we ate there; however, and due to its central location and views of the ocean, Viejo Vallarta is a bit more expensive than other comparable restaurants.

Place is really cool with the following options: — Gift shopping for all your souvenirs. — Tequila tasting shops. — Bomb mexican restaurants. — Lots of Clubs. Only downside is the roads they keep as a tradition but is the worst to be driving around in. If you go to Puerto Vallarta its a Must do.

It is nice location, but the food is OK. If u are there for the view, it is a great location. It is a tourist trap as well. Is is also overpriced even with the strong dollar.

WOW! What a wonderful time last night at Viejo Vallarta! The food was incredible … best molcajete ever! The staff was kind and very attentive. They closed down the restaurant for our nephew and his fiancé and hosted the rehearsal dinner. We got to just enjoy being together in a beautiful spot, feasting on wonderful food, and watching a gorgeous sunset. You really need to make Viejo Vallarta a priority on your visit to Puerto Vallarta!!!

3.29.15 My cousin and I went here on the recommendation of our cab driver — and it was PHENOMENAL! The staff was so kind, and the food was delicious — best shrimp I had in Mexico! The restaurant itself is set on the third story, completely open along the front to the plaza and bay below — so idyllic! I will absolutely be recommending this place to anyone going to Puerto Vallarta!

I’ve been here two times and both times the food was great, the service was exquisite, great view of the bay with good music. A place to come back to.

FANTASTIC!!! Di loves the Shrimps Connie — bacon wrapped shrimp with a sauce on top — to die for!!! I always get the surf and turf — awesome! For our anniversary we asked the owner for lobster and he got us five — it was the most awesome meal! Don’t be afraid to ask for something fresh — they will get it from the market and cook it for you the next day. Fantastic location to watch the people and just head downstairs one floor to Murphy’s Irish Pub for a great time afterwards!

Worth a visit for their great view of the water and people watching from up above. We were taking a long walk through town and started down the boardwalk in need of some refreshments and a snack. Guacamole was excellent, strawberry and mango margaritas were tasty but not strong. Good service and we got a table right on the patio(a must).

Location and appearance would suggest a tourist trap; however, this establishment offers great food and fabulous views. Guacamole made with fresh ingredients; vibrant pico de gallo. I can vouch for the mole!

Awesome view. Yes you have to walk to the third floor but who doesn’t need to burn a few extra calories with all the eating in PV? You can eat some of the best food in PV and hear the waves. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We highly recommend as a «must» while you’re in PV.

Roberto convinced us to try it. He also gave us free guacamole. We were the only ones and a bit worried it might not be good. It was really good and the service was good. We had the shrimp and chicken fajitas and they were excellent

It’s on the 3rd floor with no elevator, but the view is worth it. Find Roberto outside and make sure he offers you something free for eating there… we had free guacamole! The food was great, along with the service. I had the cactus salad, & even took some home for lunch!

Excellent food, excellent service — great prices! Highly recommend. Every dish we had was great — so much flavor and cooked perfectly. Highly recommend the ribeye steak and cactus salad. Oh so good.
