My husband and I were able to get a last minute reservation here, while visiting in Cozumel. This place was phenomenal. The food was wonderful. The atmosphere and ambience was amazing! Beautiful place. Def recommend.

We shared the «Couples experience.» A little bit of everything. Flank Steak and Mahi Mahi. Chicken Enchilada. Flan for dessert.
Appetizer: lionfish cake. Ceviche. Avocado with diced fruit and bacon.
All delicious ! And sweet potato chips. Yum!
Dessert: chocolate cake. Flan. Banana bread pudding (best part) and churra sticks (like donuts.)

Excellent food and atmosphere. The fish of the day is my pick every time. I have never had a bad meal there.

The atmosphere was pure jungle relaxation, and the sangria, queso fundido, pescado tomatillo, and pollo poblano were all exceptional. Our gato companion also made regular visits to the table, and the staff was very polite and friendly.

This was our favorite dinner on the island! This place is a little more upscale than the other places we chose to eat but it was so worth it and still a deal! My husband ordered the Kondesa Tomatilla with tuna (Catch of the day). He had it seared and said it was one of the best meals he’s ever had. I had the enchiladas which were prepared vegetarian style for me and they were also delicious. Portion sizes were a little smaller than average but that gave us the opportunity to order dessert. Chocolate cake and corn flan were both awesome.
Loved the ambiance-​outdoor seating in a garden with lanterns and lots of candles. The music was great too.

Came here for a birthday celebration on a family vacation this week. The food was delicious. The service was great. The ambiance was great. There was a cat walking around and my mom was petrified so the waiter took the cat inside. They wrote happy birthday on a plate in chocolate for me.

This was absolutely fabulous. The atmosphere is so pretty. The waitstaff is outstanding. The food was delicious. The snapper tomatillo was fabulous. The sampler dessert was out of this world. Reminded me of a Mexico version of Brennans.

Wonderful meal at Kondesa with great service and waitstaff. The house margarita was perfect as were the lionfish «Kondesa kakes». The enchiladas weren’t the best I’ve had but still excellent. I’d definitely go back to try other dishes there!

The food is excellent and the people working there are very friendly. The menu offered several different ways to have the catch of the day and our party tried them all. I recommend the one with tomatillo in the name, but all are good.
It is a family owned and operated restaurant and every person working there showed hospitality and care for our dining experience.
The deserts are very good too! And they made a special desert for me for Father’s Day. That was very kind.

By far the best meal I’ve had in Cozumel! We did the couples dinner menu. Portions were great and the best ceviche I’ve had! Mini tacos, enchilada and the dessert was great! Great place to have a romantic dinner outside.

This was one of our favorite meals in Cozumel. From the atmosphere to the service to the food, drink and desserts — Kondesa did not disappoint!
They offer a «Kondesa Experience» which comes with a sampling of their appetizers, entrees and desserts. Everyone in our group did this!
Atmosphere: feels like you are in the middle of a luxurious jungle retreat. Trees growing overhead and tables scattered around a small yard. Soft lights give it a romantic mood.
Service: excellent and quick. No complaints here!
Appetizers: we had read that the lionfish cakes were awesome… but everyone in our group agreed they were just ok. Certainly not bad, but not amazing. The «fruit and bacon» guak was awesome though.
Entrees: The grilled fish was really good, although the portion was pretty small. The steak was thin, but very tasty. The enchilada was very good. All of the sides tasted fresh and good.
Desserts: Good portion sizes. Some in our group claimed the chocolate cake with coconut was their favorite chocolate cake ever. It was really good, but their house specialty, which was sort of like a bread pudding was my favorite!
We had a couple of bottles of Malbec wine with dinner. The waiter was helpful in picking out some great selections!
We were recommending Kondesa to everyone we talked to the rest of the trip. It’s pricey by Cozumel standards but cheap compared to US restaurants. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Cozumel!

Another great experience while on vacation in Cozumel. We visited Kondesa on our first night on the island. The service was friendly as usual… our waiter entertained us with cat stories and tried to coax the local kitty over to our table. We are huge cat lovers so I enjoyed feeding the little guy fresh fish.
The margaritas were great, most of the drinks are the menu were very refreshing.
For dinner, I picked the fresh catch of the day which was Mahi Mahi, topped with puffed pepitas, shaved brussle spouts and a green cream sauce (not sure what it was but it was tasty). We subbed out the rice and the server offered fresh veggies. The food was amazing as our last visit. All of the flavors played well with each other and I loved the vibrant colors of the plated ingredients.
If you are in Cozumel, this is a place you should definitely check out.

I loved our meal at Kondesa! And I love that even in Mexico, Unilocal did not steer me wrong. Needing to find a nice restaurant for our friends to buy us dinner to fulfill a World Series bet, reviews led me here.
Atmosphere-​Incredible! Beautiful! Loved the outdoor patio, covered by overhanging trees and dangling lights. On a lovely, warm night, it was amazing (when raining, would not work though.)
Service-​Attentive, friendly, funny, patient with my Spanish… just plain great.
Food-​OMG yum! We started with the «In Guak We Trust» guacamole trio. While my favorite was still the classic, the other versions (smoked & fruit with bacon) were interesting. Each of us got a salad or soup to start. The salads are HUGE, so it ended up being a lot of food. I got the Soho Salad-​greens with deep fried brie & veggies… yep, it was great. For an entrée, I had the Pollo Poblano, but substituted habanero pepper for the bell pepper, which they did without batting an eye and made spicy just like I wanted. It was SO good-​chicken stuffed with poblano peppers & Oaxaca cheese, with my special made habanero sauce… oh yeah! It came with veggies and mashed sweet potato which was also good. Everyone else seemed quite happy with their entrees too (each getting something different), but I was mostly focused on how good my food was.
As avid scuba divers, we have been to Cozumel 3 times, and will likely go again. Kondesa is on my return list for sure!

There is nothing like dining on a delicious lionfish cake after a long day of diving. Those little buggers are everywhere, and I felt like I was doing my part by ordering several.
While in Cozumel for a week, we went back to Kondesa twice. Sure, the other restaurants are great, but damn, the lionfish cakes.
Great service, cocktails, and food (yes, they have many other tasty dishes, too!). Lovely outdoor setting, after a day in the sun. We will go back soon, and B line for Kondesa.

This place is beautiful and the food was amazing. I just travelled here 2 weeks ago and it was one of the highlights of our entire trip and by far the best food we had in Cozumel! The drinks are fabulous also. Excellent service and if you happen to go on a dj night, the music was very hip!

Kondesa was our top pick for eating in Cozumel after reading the many reviews on trip advisor and Unilocal.It was as good as everyone said. We came at 5 and were the only people dining that early. Our server was very attentive and friendly without being overbearing. We had the house margarita and the mango margarita. Both drinks were some of the very best drinks my husband and I ever had. Dinner was fabulous too. I ordered the Kalifornia salad with spinach, strawberries, quinoa, goat cheese, red onion and pecans. It was light and the perfect balance of sweet and savory. My husband ordered the shrimp mezcal which was also delicious. We wish could have come later in the evening as it was very romantic and beautiful. I could imagine spending the night dancing, drinking and eating here and having a blast.

The list of romantic places I’ve been to with a date (I liked), pales in comparison to the list of romantic places I’ve been to with people I work with, gay men and girlfriends. My experience at Kondesa is on the long list. The best thing about living in Dallas is that Cozumel is only a 2 hour flight away. I came here on a 5 night holiday with a girlfriend. We found Kondesa by wandering past it. Like moths to a flame we were attracted to the colorful lights and thatched roof. This is really a small restaurant built on a patio as is normal in Mexico. The aesthetics of this place with the really cool bar and how they did the lighting and whatnot are truly inspiring to design freaks like me.
On top of the amazing ambiance, the food is just as good. Before I talk about food, I have to comment on the margaritas. I am a margarita snob. I dismiss about 90% of them as a shot of tequila in a melted lime popcycle. Of that 90% I drink about ½ of those as I have already paid for them, the rest are not worth the calories. And I must say that many of the margaritas I’ve had in Cozumel have been good. Mostly, I am referring to those made in California. Anyway, the margaritas at Kondesa were fabulous. They had some sort of nouveau twist that was actually done very well. No on to the food. It was fabulous as well. They do this 3 guacamole thing and also do great things with fish.
This restaurant is so great we ate here two times of the five nights in Cozumel. The second time, it started to rain cats and dogs as a hurricane was in Cuba or something. Anyway the owner and staff were so kind and sheltered us until we felt bad for them and made a dash back to our hotel.
I’ve recommend this to anyone visiting Cozumel. I plan to get back as soon as I can. But, this time with a date that I like.

Wow! Love love love this place. This was the highlight of our evening. Why go to a chain restaurant when you can go to Kondesa’s? It’s locally owned. The food is fresh, savory, and oh so satisfying. My husband and I ordered the «Kondesa Experience». Memorable, delightful meal. The flan with its corn kernels is out of this world. The meat phenomenally tender. The cerviche a party of flavors.
We were so impressed with our server Caesar, «like the salad». He knew everything on the menu and explained the details. He had a lot of pride and he exuded charisma. It was a joy to talk to him and learn about the impact of Hurricane Wilmar on Cozumel, his story and perspective in general. The staff worked well together.
The atmosphere was soothing. The lighting dim. The music not too loud. Seating was in a tropical green canopy outside in a niche away from noisy streets, smelly exhaust, and the hum drum of the city. It actually felt like we were in the wild and not smack dab in the city center. There was a cute little frog jumping at the edge of the landscape, a friendly cat named Dexter that made his rounds to the tables minding his own business but still curious.
I had the most amazing drink. Non-​alcoholic mojito called «limon minta». Mmm mmm mmm. Refreshing. I ordered two. In fact, not only would I come back to eat here, I would order a «limon minta» to-​go during the day as I window shop.
