Most people would typically head over to CaffeBene when craving Bingsu but if you’re in the Subang area, OW: L Espresso is worth a try. Located on the first floor of Menara Rajawali(Directly opposite McDonald’s and Starbucks and next to INTI College) in SS15, the café has both indoor and outdoor seating, though sitting outside tends to be boiling hot as it’s facing right out onto a road opposite McDonald’s the smell of McDonald’s food tends to waft in the direction of the café. It’s also much too noisy due to the traffic right outside. Since it was a sweltering hot day, my friend and I decided to order the large Fruit and Yogurt Bingsu(RM23) and also a Yuja Tea(RM8) to share. The staff are friendly and polite and even gave us recommendations! But it took roughly 45 minutes for our Bingsu to arrive and by then we were almost ready to get up and just leave because we were so frustrated even though we asked the staff twice to check on it. We wouldn’t have minded so much if the place was full but nope, there was only a group of 4 there at that time. The Yuja Tea was horrible. It had a strong bitter grapefruit taste and the syrup to water ratio was way too much to the drink was too thick and it had what looked like peel/pulp in it so it was difficult to suck up with the straw. When our bingsu finally did come, i have to say it’s well worth the money. The large portion can easily be shared by 4 people. It was loaded with watermelon cubes on top and a scoop of Vanilla ice cream and topped with what tasted and looked like Dragonfruit purée. The texture of the shaved ice here is much better than any other Bingsu i’ve tried. The ice was much finer and flaky as compared to most places where the ice is in the form of chips. The only thing I disliked about the bingsu was that there were sunflower seed sprinkled throughout inside, which gave a flavor that I didn’t particularly fancy. I couldn’t taste much of a yogurt flavor too, more berry than yogurt really. Overall, it’s worth a try to come here! they even serve cakes and coffee too if you’re not really into bingsu, though that is what they’re well known for.

As if the townsfolk of Subang Jaya didn’t have enough of cafes to chill their afternoons away, OW. L Espresso welcomes the friendly competition with its unique spread of Korean desserts. When you visit, only remember 2 things: Bingsu and Marley coffee. Yups, that is all you need to know to get the most of this cute, comfy little spot located strategically next to Inti College. The Korean version of Ice Kacang boasts a milky, flaky and smooth shaved ice that melts immediately on your tongue. A perfect bed of snow for those lovely sweet toppings. Our orders for the day includes the signature Injeolmi bingsu — decorated with Korean glutinous rice cakes, chopped pistachios and almonds and adzuki paste. The Cookies & Cream bingsu(come on, chocolate snow? What’s not to like!) is like dunking Oreo powder into an milky ice bath. RM12 just didn’t seem enough shared among 4, could have gone for a bigger size for RM22. We also tried an Americano version of the Marley coffee, supposedly named after the late Bob Marley’s son. Who ever knew that! Overall, if not for the coffee, do drop by for the bingsu preferably on weekday nights when the noise level is bearable.

Behold the latest café craze in SS15! Serving as a hub for mostly college students in the area, OW: L Espresso is usually buzzing with people at all times of the day. OW:L Espresso introduces the Bingsu, a Korean dessert that bares very similar traits to the Malaysian ais kacang. Another specialty here would be the type of coffee that they use, which just happens to be Marley coffee. To take it a step further, OW: L Espresso’s famous Affogato Bingsu(RM24 for a large one) lets you enjoy the sinfully delicious iced dessert with a shot of freshly brewed Jamaican coffee! So far I’ve only had the chance to sample their Affogato(which was huge enough for ATLEAST3 people) and Macadamia latte(RM11). If you happen to drop by, make it your utmost priority to taste the bingsu!

Another coffee café againnnn? Oh man, we’ve already got enough of those out there. BUTWAIT! This isn’t just another coffee café! This is a coffee/Korean dessert café which serves Korean Bingsu — so for you Korean dessert lovers out there, head on over to try it out. I’m not a huge Korean fan myself, but I did enjoy the dessert. The ice of the Bingsu is shaved just nice that it melts in your mouth, rather than having to chew and bite on it. They also brew their coffee using Marley Coffee — and yes, that is Bob Marley we’re talking about, but no, it wasn’t started by Bob Marley the man himself but his son. So following his dad’s footsteps, he’s using coffee as a catalyst to get high on caffeine and spreading the love to people around the world — one love, one heart, let’s get together and feel alright! But jokes aside, this is a really nice café that all you café lovers should try out. If you visit after 6pm you can even park in the basement of the building for only RM2 per entry, avoiding the terrible parking problem of SS15. Because sometimes you just can’t live in that negative way, make way for the positive day!
