Hey yo! Do you love doughnuts but you’re afraid of going from size 2 to size 8? Fear not. Now we have bagels — aka healthy, big doughnuts. This one and only BrooklynB serves delicious bagels at a decent price range. I’ve never tried the real NYC bagels but I bet the ones they have here are reflective of those in NYC. The owner of BrooklynB learnt how to make these bagels while he was staying in NYC. My personal favourite is PB&J poppy seed bagel. PB&J is so American. Lol.

Bagel was one of my favourite foods while studying in the UK! I was glad to know that there is now a bagel shop in SS15. It is located at the shop-lot opposite the Asia Café, which is just next to the Pizza Hut. The café offers a cozy and quiet environment with artistic painting on the wall. You will need to order and pay at the cashier, food will then be delivered to you. Plain water is free-of –charge, you will need to take it yourselves at the kiosk. It offers a wide range of bagels but I prefer the one with sesame seed only. Bagel is actually a Jewish food but now it is very common in Western countries. Cream cheese and lox is always my choice but it is difficult to get it in Malaysia since cream cheese and smoked salmon are expensive, and I don’t know where I can get a bagel. But now I found this shop! Despite of bagels, it sells all-day American breakfast and different kind of sandwiches. I also tried its smoked salmon carbonara(this was my favourite in the UK too!) and it tasted good, while my friend ordered a pumpkin soup that came with a bread. It had a thick texture with some milk and herbs which enriched the smell. If you wish to have something full, it provides variety of meals from beef, sausages, chicken to fish. Fish and chips is my all time favourite but we were too full to try more so we will just pull this until next time. I also wish to try its NYC buffalo wings and beef goulash on my next visit! Overall it is a good place to have some Western foods, it offers almost all my favourites! However the bagels were a little pricey, but the meals and soups considered cheap~

Nestled amongst rows of shops in SS15 Subang Jaya, BROOKYLNB is a bagel bakery cum café refurbished about a year ago. Fresh with a new look, BROOKYLNB is ready and up against the café competition in SS15. I would say that the décor is neither über comfy neither unwelcoming; the café sports a rather minimalistic style with its uneven gradient cemented floor, dark walls, square wooden furnitures neatly arranged and modernistic ceiling lamps. Here, where it is self-service, customers order and pay at the counter before dining. BROOKLYNB serves a variety of bagels– good ol’ plain bagel, whole wheat for the health conscious ones, sesame, garlic, onion, cheese(!), cinnamon for the sweet tooth and so on. To complement the bagel, customers can opt for chicken, beef, lamb, tuna or egg. Choices here are pretty great for bagel lovers. However, I must sadly say that I did not enjoy my bagel sandwich as much as I expected myself to. I ordered the homemade corn beef on garlic bagel. The corn beef was dry and rather measly for the portion of bagel. My friend, who ordered a plain bagel with cream cheese, said hers was alright. Nothing to dote over. On the other hand, the mocha was(Y). The ratio of coffee to chocolate and the temperature harmonized wonderfully. Also, finding parking around BROOKYLNB is pretty tough. Unless you are willing to park at the privately owned parking lot, get ready to test your luck or brace the parking hunt.

Craving for authentic New York styled bagels? BROOKNLYNB has got you covered! Serving up a diverse variety of poppy seed, garlic, chocolate and cinnamon flavoured burgers, BROOKLYNB shakes things up in order to provide customers with the ultimate experience of one of New York’s most loved delicacy. If you’re not too crazy about bagels, don’t fret! BROOKLYB offers up various pasta dishes as well like Aglio Olio and Smoked Salmon Carbonara. Their after 6pm dinner menu also consists of Chicken Parmigiana and Bratwurst. However if you’re still keen on those bagels, BROOKLYNB offers it up in sets of 4(RM12), 6(RM16) and 12(RM29) pieces with different flavours to choose from. Their Roast Lamb(RM17.90) is also a favorite there, with pieces of lamb sandwiched between two bagels. BROOKNLYB can be quite crowded during the lunch hour, so prepare to embark on the quest for parking spaces!

Before this spot opened up, the only way I could get my hands on Bagels was to buy frozen ore packaged ones or to go a specialty bakery. When my friends and I payed a visit here we were lucky because we got a parking spot right in front of the shop but on normal days it’s almost impossible. If you study in Taylor’s College or INTI in SS15 you’re in luck because all you have to do is walk there Bagels here aren’t the best but they’re pretty good. We all ordered Garlic Bagels and a side of bagel«chips» which are sliced up pieces of bagel, toasted until crispy and served with a garlic mayonnaise type dip. The bagels wear soft and fluffy but there wasn’t much of a Garlic taste. We each got a set, which includes a drink and either a small side salad or soup.

They serve western food like spaghetti, but my favourite food there are the bagelwiches, which taste really delicious. For example, Philly Cheese Steak and the bagel spreads are scrumptious too like the nutella spread and the bagel with pb&j. I really liked the savoury bagels eg: the poppyseed bagel, the sesame seed bagel and the sweet ones like cinnamon raisin and blueberry. The bagels are prepared fast, but and the plain bagels are cheap whereas the bagelwiches aren’t.

BROOKLYNB is a bagel bakery and café, located at SS15 Subang Jaya. For those who don’t know what is bagel. Here’s my explanation. Bagel is a very popular breakfast in US, which is in ring shape. It is made from yeast dough. Well, it looks alike to doughnut. However, the making process of bagel is different from doughnut, which is also healthier, for god’s sake.(If you want to know about the difference, you can google it.) Back to the point, BROOKLYNB stands out from the café at Subang Jaya with their bagel. Customers can choose to dine in or takeaway. BROOKLYNB is a self-serviced café; thus, customers would need to make the order at counter. They have different flavors of bagels to choose. For example, poppy seed, garlic, apple cinnamon, chocolate, and sesame seed. And now, BROOKLYNB is still trying to come out with new flavors so customers can have more options! Apart from traditional bagel, customers can choose to have bagelwiches. Meaning that, bagel as the base of sandwich. I find this very fresh and creative idea. If you are going to BROOKLYNB, do try it out since you may not find it in other bakery café. All in all, BROOKLYNB is quite a unique café for me. I never tried bagel before. Initially, I thought it is doughnut and then a friend of mine told me it is bagel. Well, the café is simple in terms of its designs. The crews were students at nearby college and university who were polite and productive. I was satisfied with their services.
