Joe and I love to go for banana leave rice, and we used to have it every weekend at Ravi in 3 Two Square. However, Ravi has moved and now the place is replaced by Rani’s House of Curries. If you are entering the square from Tram Car Restaurant, go straight and you’ll see Rani’s on your right. The interior did not change much. It’s still as bright and spacious as before. I like how they keep the place clean and neat. The service at Rani’s is fast and they are very attentive. Joe and I had the rice and ordered a fried squid to share. The gravy and sides were not too bad, but we were not a fan of the fried squid. We still prefer the ones at Ravi. Although 3 Two Square is a quite place, getting a parking at that area might not be too easy. Also, the cell service at that area is really bad.

My dear is a banana leaf rice lover. Therefore, we sometimes seek for restaurant that serves banana leaf rice during lunchtime. Since we both work in office hour, we have only one hour for dining outside. Such a coincidence, we found Rani’s House of Curries when we had our lunch at 3 Two Square. So, the next day, we have decided to have our lunch there. The restaurant was clean and tidy. And recently, they have changed all their tables and chairs. The chairs now have cushion on top; thus, customers can sit more comfortable while enjoying their food. The crews were very attentive and polite, they were efficient. Once ordering banana lead rice, they will put on the banana leaf on your table immediately while another crew will serve you the rice, papadam and the vegetables. Normally, we will order additional food such as fried chicken, fish or mutton. If you ordered something fried, expect some delays. Unlike other restaurant, Rani’s doesn’t serve ready-made fried meat. Everytime we ordered, we wonder why it took so long for them to serve us. But then, we realized this is because they fried the meat only when we order it. This is to ensure the fried food served in hot and fresh condition. To be honest, sometimes waiting isn’t a pleasant thing; especially when you are tied with time. However, I am still satisfied with the decent service Rani’s provided.
