This is for sure one of the biggest night markets you can find around KL. There are a lot of people who go to this night market. They have a lot of stalls surrounding the center of the hawker stall and garden. It’s pretty huge and they have tons of food stalls and drinks. They have a lot of food stalls like chinese and malay ones especially. They also sell a lot of snacks in the night market. Local delicacies and kuih, all at a very cheap and affordable price. You could buy a lot of things with 10rm around the market. There are also cheap items which you can buy from clothing to kitchenware. There are just tons of options and stalls for your liking. The only struggle of the place is the parking, there are just tons of other shops in the area and it can be such a hassle to find parking with the million of cars causing a ton of traffic.

In the unhygienic crevices of SS2 shoplots come a pasar malam that opens on Monday evening till late at night, and has served loyal SS2 residents with its cheap plastic products and tasty, fatty food for the longest time. Of course, I am not joking. Like any other pasar malam, it is wet, humid, full of sweat and the homeless lying on the floor begging for that small portion of your money that you carry around. There are many bubble tea shops, which is the main cause for obesity among all OLs, and the famous Taiwanese based cuisine shops, where the shop sells from pizzas to fried chicken chops, stuff that will cause a heart attack to unsuspecting eaters. I kid, I kid. I love this pasar malam, but it is perhaps a little too unkempt for my liking. For a better pasar malam experience, I would suggest the Taman Desa one. Just putting it out there.

Having a Monday blues at work or at school? Come on over to the pasar malam at ss2. Have your dinner here or shop for things that might cheer you up. From items such as phone devices, covers and power banks to key chains, accessories and other products that doesn’t cross your mind often. My friend’s father actually has a stall there where he serves one of the best carrot cake I’ve ever tasted. You could walk and eat or even ‘tapao’ it home for your family. The market closes early about 10 ish, so I recommend you guys to head over around 8 ish slightly after the peak hours! About an hour is enough to cover the entire market but becareful of your belongings too my friends as there are many pickpockets around these days!

One of my favourite things to do since I’ve come back is to go for pasar malams. I just love stuffing myself with Malaysian snacks and treats. And the best part is that you’re guaranteed a cheap price. Not only that they sell those random household items that you think you don’t need but you actually do. Like hair pins, they disappear on me all the time! This pretty much encapsulates what the pasar malam at SS2 is about. They seriously have a large selection of food all around and lately I’ve noticed more and more stalls are selling Thai and Japanese street food. I’m not complaining though, the Thai chicken skewers are the best. On some Mondays, dinner for me is just walking about eating street food. They also sell mountains fruits and vegetables for a very good price, especially when it is getting late. That is when they tend to reduce price to get rid of stock. There is also a dry food stall near the food court which I always go to. They sell biscuits and chips. A great place to load up on small bites. As with most pasar malams, SS2 has its fair share of pick pockets so it is important to be vigilant.

Vibrant, lively with plenty of food to eat and things to buy! The SS2 market in PJ is one of my favourite markets to go on Monday and it’s usually open from 6pm to 10pm. The crowd is huge and that’s what makes it fun because you have the whole authentic Malaysian pasar malam feel going on. Void your dinner on Monday because there are plenty of snacks for you to snack on! From the famous laksa food truck to Taiwanese sausage and cakes, you can opt from more than 20 stalls merely on just dinner and snacks! For a foodie, this is a lovely place indeed. The fun doesn’t just stop on the food though, you can buy clothes, household items, fashion and accessories, groceries and phone accessories as well and the choices are aplenty! Well they are still a night market so don’t expect the quality to be at par of those you get from malls, but still it’s still worth walking around for as you may get some great deals there. So the pro tip to follow is, be careful of their quality and depending on the items you’re shopping for, you can bargain(just a bit). Vegetables is good to buy here but some fruits are of terrible quality so please do pick a good stall before starting your shopping.

Night market in the SS2 has been known as one of the liveliest night market in Malaysia, with its length surrounds the SS2 shop-lots! It held every Monday night from 6 pm. to 11 or 12 pm. surrounding the SS2 Wai Sek Kai. The food stalls sell all kinds of Chinese and local foods, from char kuay teow, dim sum, laksa, yong tao fu, siu pao, rojak, roasted ducks to Taiwan pizzas and sausages, Japanese Okonomiyaki, and even Malay’s nasi lemak! There are some stalls selling fresh vegetables and fruits as well. Clothes and other accessories are also available in certain stalls! I love the foods here so much but may be not for the location. I spent hours to get a parking at night and the parking-lot costed me RM8(which is next to the Wong Kok restaurant that I thought it was a public parking area)!!! And then I spent another half hour to get out from the SS2 area due to traffic jam again… Perhaps just go there earlier next time?
