Kiku Zakura

From the outside this Japanese restaurant look like a fancy fine dining Japanese outlet. Rather than the normal Sushi Tei and Rakuzen that I always go for in Tropicana City Mall, I wanted to try a little something different, which is this outlet.
The restaurant offers much more privacy and classy ambiance to the patrons, and the crowd is definitely much less than the other two outlets I mentioned. It is perfectly quiet and private for your to have your meal with your companion. The menu is very extensive too, definitely like one of those classcic Japanese opened restaurants with a few words untranslated in the menu. Price wise, I feel that it’s slightly above what Rakuzen is charging, so I was expecting a better quality than what Rakuzen is offering.
When the food came, well… it was rather mehh. It was normal, and the salmon sashimi don that I had did not beat the ones that I have in Rakuzen. Probably the crowd is less here hence the turnover is lower and the freshness of the ingredient is lacking. I tried the food of my companion and it wasn’t amazing either. Average I would say at a higher price for the quiet ambiance. I still prefer Rakuzen at the Ground floor over this place.

One of my very first Japanese Restaurant i have ever taste before i know other Japanese Restaurant and after many years of increasing my love of food and understanding the quality of food and coming back here again brings back the first time memories.
A very intimate dimming with yellow lights environment, we were taken to our seats and i findit really cool is that it is not a normal table a chair but it’s like a square hole was dig under the short table and we get to rest our legs under the hole. (Japanese Style) Pretty comfortable but bad for the back.
The beef here is really good and fresh salmon sashimi obviously, one thing i like here is that there have so many bento set that is range about RM40 to more. I think i have to say that this place food tasted really classic because i feel i was in the zone of king and queen (That’s how the interior attracted me). A must try place.
