I would say that Go Thai is slightly overrated. Was expecting some very Thai-ish food but what I get is slightly different with what I expected. I ordered the khao kah moo(stewed pork leg with rice and egg) and moo ping(pork stewer). I would say the rice is so so and reasonable to the price in PJ. The Moo ping I would rate 7⁄10. I also ordered the Thai dessert which cost rm6. The appearance doesn’t looks good when it is served but luckily it taste okay. Overall, I would say the food here is average with the affordable price. Anyway, the environment is quite noisy, and not really suitable for chit chat as I have to raise my voice a little in order to be heard.

With the nearby durian stalls gone, parking(especially during the day) should be easier… if you’re not fussed about walking a little bit. This is after several visits(both for lunch and/or dinner), so here goes. They don’t have printed menus for everyone(it’s written on a couple of huge whiteboards), so you either need to sit at a table nearest a menu, or just stand near one to figure out what you want to order. Food: Price is okay, nothing over RM15. Portions could be a little better, I think. The drinks could be priced better(by that, I mean lower), I feel. And how can you call yourself a Thai establishment and not sell Thai Coca-Cola?! All that aside, food is delicious. The warm sago pudding(with fresh corn) I also like. Service: Sometimes you get served quickly, sometimes you don’t. Sometimes the food arrive before the drink… you never know.

Well, no offense but I find this place overrated. Initially I was super excited to try them out after hearing how good it was from quite a number of friend. Plus I love thai street food! Hence, I was so happy that I’m finally going to try them out. Excitedly I ordered their Moo Ping(pork skewer), Phad Mee Korat(usually known as Phad Thai) and of course the desserts Tub Thim Krob too while the hubby had their Khao Kah Moo(stewed pork leg with rice and egg). Was so excited until I had my first bite into the pork skewer. It doesn’t taste as great as expected. I still maintained positive. Who knows my Phad Thai will be great? It turns out not my favorite kinda phad thai(too wet)… And they didn’t even put peanuts into my phad thai(don’t even have it upon request). *sad*. I hardly ate my food half way and feels such a waste putting them into my body. FYI, I’m a glutton. A glutton feeling that way is a total bad news. Didn’t want to waste food, I forced myself to finish most of it. At that point in time I was still a tiny bit positive *who knows their desserts(tub thim krub) is good?*. It turns out. *meh*.

Pork pork pork, this is all I can say for this Thai restaurant. It has got this very cool dark colored theme to it that makes it look so chic and desirable to try. That was what drawn me into trying it out too. The menu had me at moo ping. It’s BBQ Pork Steaks Thai style. Without any hesitation I ordered it and also pork Tom yum. There’s only a handful of places that serves pork Tom yum and I’m not gonna miss my chance in trying them all. Staffs are very friendly and helpful and they are consider quite well versed!

Porkkkkkkkk! I love a place in KL that serves pork — then I grab every chance I get to savour almost every pork dish on the menu my stomach can possibly handle as I know a place that serves a variety of pork dishes is few and far between in KL. I love the pork tomyam here, it tastes so good and filled my tummy! I had the red rubles desert too which is pretty much shaved ice with sugary coloured liquid, beans, coconut milk etc. all in one bowl. Such a great ending to a fantastic meal. I will definitely bring all my friends here next time — Go Thai is a must try if you havent yet!

Finally went to Go Thai for my lunch just now! Awww. I was so excited that I can have my favorite Thai Kuew Teow. I bet a lot of you heard of Go Thai. It was popular when starting up their business. The decoration here is simple, with a lot of soft drink glass bottle displaying around. By the way, all bottles are in Thai words. I noticed that Go Thai is owned by Thai for Work Sdn Bhd. I was thinking whether it is similar to those agency which handle working permit for foreigners to work in Malaysia. It is a brilliant idea that they open a Thai restaurant and hire Thai. It was my first dining at Go Thai, so I was wondering how to make order. I learned that there is no menu in form of booklet. You would need to read the whiteboard and make order. It offers few kinds of Thai cuisine, but still limited. I ordered their Kuey Teow Nam Sai, basically is a pork soup Thai kuey teow. My boyfriend ordered Phad Mee Karat, because he said he missed Phad Thai so much. Well, the portion is slightly smaller, in my opinion. The Thai kuey teow was a little bit less, four spoons to finish it. Huh?! I expected to have more? However, the soup was very appetizing. I drank a lot. Since I wasn’t full, so I ordered their Moo Ping, pork steak. It tasted like satay with teriyaki sauce. That was heavenly delightful! At a glance, Go Thai serves very great Thai authentic cuisine. However, would be greater if they serve in bigger portion.

When I mom told me she was going to bring me out for some Thai food, I was ecstatic! So glad to finally have dinner here yesterday after hearing so much about this place from my mom. Go Thai is thai street food restaurant located in SS2 not far from the famous durian buffet stalls. Finding parking here is not that difficult either. We ordered the somtam(papaya salad), tomyam seafood, moo ping(charcoal grilled pork skewers) and the khao ka moo(stewed pork leg with rice) to be be shared between us two. The somtam was extremely appetizing and not too spicy. The tomyam on the other, was fragrant, spicy and very addictive with a generous amount of prawns. The khao ka moo was good too. We asked for lean meat which was very nice but it could’ve been slightly softer and maybe with a bit more gravy to go with the rice. The moo ping was definitely my favorite because the pork was so juicy and melted off my tongue. Personally I thought it was tastier than the ones I’ve had in Bangkok! We also ordered the tub thim krob(thai red rubies) for dessert which was very refreshing and delicious. The interior of the place was quite simple and nice. The owner was really nice and friendly as well. Service was also fast and efficient even with the crowds that kept coming. Last but not least, the food was affordable too and we really enjoyed our meal. The only downside was that the place was slightly stuffy and hot.

I have to admit, the all pork menu caught my eye and my heart skipped a beat. It’s rare to find a dining establishment in KL serving just pork so I was excited when I discovered Go Thai. I visited the place on a sunday afternoon so there was plenty of parking spaces though I suspect it may be difficult to get parking on weekdays. Go Thai serves thai street food and the restaurant’s staff wear straw hats that reminds me of the countryside farmers. There is air condition inside and you’ll be able to see them preparing the food outside the restaurant as everything is prepared beforehand. Only pork is served here and you’ll be spoiled with the choices of rice or noodles here. There’s even pork skewers available to share. I went with the Khoo Kaa Moo which is essentially a traditional stewed pork legs served with a boiled egg and vegetables with rice. The pork’s flesh was tender and came with a side of really spicy chilli sauce so beware of that. I wished there was a little more gravy to go with the rice though. Drinks here are pricey at RM4 to RM5 per glass and you’ll get the traditional thai iced milk tea or white coffee. Portions aren’t too big but most of the dishes are priced at RM9 and there is no tax or service charge. I’ll definitely be back to try some of their other dishes including the thai basil minced meat with rice.

For a very long time, Thai food has meant Tom Yum and Mango Sticky Rice for a lot of people in Malaysia. Recently, there are more Thai restaurants opening and I’m glad to see that they are offering something different. I noticed there’s a new Thai restaurant opened up in SS2 — Go Thai, and they are offering Thai street food. One of the main reasons that I kept going back to Thailand was because the food, especially the street food. Before Go Thai, there was only Frame Thai in Seksyen 17 for me. Frame Thai has really good Thai food, but personally I think it’s a bit pricey and the place is quite small and sometimes stuffy. Go Thai is located near the Durian stalls in SS2, facing the row bridal shops. Even though it might be a challenge to get a parking space during lunch time, my colleagues and I really wanted to try out the place. The menu was pretty limited. They do not give out menus, so you would either have to read the menu at the entrance or at the counter. The Kway Tiow Go Thai is the spicy version of the noodle soup. It comes with pork balls, a few slices of pork, vegetables, and chili paste with peanuts. The chili paste wasn’t too spicy yet it has a nice acidity in it, and the peanuts gave the dish extra nutty flavour to it. Not a noodle person? They have pretty amazing Minced Pork with Rice. It’s another spicy dish, but the heat wasn’t too much and the pork was well-seasoned. If you are looking for something non-spicy option, then you should try the Moo Thod Khatiam(Stir Fried Pork Slices with Fried Egg). The pork slices were tender and well-seasoned, but I think it could use a little more gravy. The Moo Ping(BBQ Pork Skewers) were delicious too. The pork fillet was tender and juicy with a sweet-savoury combination. It was very addictive. Generally, the pricing was quite reasonable as they pretty much less than RM10. However, I felt the drinks were a little bit pricey. I had the Hot Coffee at RM5, and it wasn’t very special.

Everytime I visit Bangkok, the top thing on my to-do dish is to have a plate of Khao Kha Moo, translated as Stewed Pork Trotters with rice. With Thailand being neighbours and all, I’ve always complained and wondered why this dish is so rare. Well, I guess I won’t be complaining so much now. Recently opened, Go Thai is a Malaysian owned restaurant specialising in Thai street food staples. Their signature dish is, of course, the Khao Kha Moo. And ordered it I did. Upon arrival, my first impression is that they’re slightly more stingy with the kailan than what I’m used too. Either that has always been the standard amount and I’ve been spoiled or they’re scrimping on the veggies. But at RM9, I feel bad complaining about that especially as it comes complete with duck egg. Overall it is a pretty satisfying dish and one which i would come back for. I’m not sure if I will ever bother trying the other dishes. On another note, the waiters do not seem especially competent; getting my mother’s food and drink order’s wrong. But I guess it could be put down to being new to the job. Finding this place is real easy, with it located near the SS2 durian store, behind BHP petrol station.

One of my chef friend actually recommended me this restaurant. I trusted him as he was, of course, a chef. With my love for Thai food, I am all up for it. There are many blooming Thai restaurants in Petaling Jaya, and this is one of the latest ones. Located in SS2, it is pretty easy to spot. The staff are all dressed in their uniform, which I think is pretty cute. Service was impeccable! The staff were attentive and the orders came really quick. However, they do not have a printed out menu yet so we all need to look at a white board outside. We ordered the Moo Ping Charcoal Grilled Pork Filet as a side dish. It was so good as the flavours melts in your mouth. It’s a combination of sweet and salty. I then ordered the Tom Yam soup but requested to change it to chicken instead of seafood. The soup was sour and strong, up to my liking and I could not stop drinking it. The next order was the deep fried pork slices in Garlic sauce with rice and egg. It was good, just lack of sauce. As for the portion, it was too little for me. Could be better for the price paid. After the main dishes, I ordered the famous Thai Red Ruby dessert. Taste wise, could be better too as I only tasted coconut milk. I would go back again to try everything else on their menu! Price range from RM9 to RM12 per main dish.

Okay what really sold me on this place was the Koo ka moo, forgive me if the spelling is wrong. Well it’s essentially stewed pork legs, which I first had the pleasure of tasting back in Bangkok a couple of years ago, and I’ve just been yearning for it. Safe to say that Go Thai’s Koo ka moo is closest thing I’ve had to the one in Bangkok, tender and sweet, the meat was cooked brilliantly. Sprinkle a shitload of chilly flakes, and a little sweet sauce, and BAM, that’s some good eating. Decently priced at an average of RM9 for most of its rice dishes, Go Thai is a convenient, and economic Thai dining experience.
