I was reaching about 5pm, but chef was still on his break… somehow we still ordered one Big Breakfast & one Pesto Pesta… waited for about 30mins for food to be served… Big Breakfast is a bit oily but Pesto Pasta is quite tasty if anyone of you like«擂茶(lui cha)» as the taste is quite similar… Environment is normal with some simple decoration…

A place for anyone who loves pork. Gee and Geek specializes in pork dishes, and you can easily find it in most of the food served in the café. Instead of the busy SS2 square, Gee and Geek is located at SS4 which is a more quiet area in the neighbourhood. Compared to others, Gee and Geek are not so instagrammable but the food are definitely up to par such as their Creamy Bacon Pasta, Geek’s Signature Pork Burger, and Geek’s Pork Bun.

I’ve been here many times to have a bite of the pork burger and some pesto pasta. The people who run the place are youngins willing to take feedback and improve their service which is a plus in my books. They took my feedback on the water temperature for the tea and got it right which deserves a thumbs up. Cons are the cheese cake which is rather unimpressive for now. Hope they can come up with a better solution. The kicker is that food is pricey but hipster cafes all have the same price range. If you are feeling peckish, head outside for kamheonglala.

I’m a fan of their bacon upon first visit! Their signature homemade bacon is what surprised me. Very deliciously made, combine with the carbonara pasta with poach egg on top, nothing could taste better. The crispy bacon toppings however were sort of salty, but everything else just taste perfect, you can even taste the fresh bacon which has blend into the pasta sauce all together. Apart from their cute little superheroes smoothies names, their brunch set is worth trying too. Not so big nor small portion, just nice to jump start your appetite. In a simple big breakfast set you get to taste all the bacons, sausages, scrambled eggs & more. We can really see their good attitude from the way they serve us, pretty polite yet casual. You can even see cards/message all over the place catering concern on customers like«10% bill on us when it rains», «we gt your GST covered». I guess we didn’t expect much from a little restaurant in a hard to be found place. Will definitely be back trying more stuff from them.

SS2 has a new treasure in the form of a contemporary café, and you’ll be surprised that it is helmed by a bunch of young dudes who were childhood friends during high school. That explains the young and hip sounding menu, which we were excited to discover that day. Don’t go looking for fish here, they do pork best. I would recommend the fried mantao buns layered with pork slices and a papaya salsa and peanut sprinkles. Something that is traditionally Asian yet you don’t see often nowadays. For something Italian-inspired, their carbonara pasta are worth a try and we were surprised to see a poached egg sitting atop the oodles of noodles, super creamy and filling. There is also aglio olio if you’re into something lighter. And of course when I say they are good for their pork, the way to know if it’s really excellent is to have it in bun form of course! The pork burgers are worth a mention with homemade pork patty, fried egg and cheese, told you there is something for every palate! We were too full for dessert that day but that’s just a good excuse for a second visit!

Gee and Geek, the gimmicky café that your kids will want to enter to drink their stupidly named drinks that are named after superheroes from a comic book. However, for what it is worth, it tastes pretty good. Coffee is not their biggest forte, as they shift their focus more into the more sweet and popular smoothies, which all of the flavors are named after superheroes. I did not taste any of them, but apparently all of them tastes… Milky, which definitely did not help much, but granted that the humans who came here raved and talked about this place for so long, there is no doubt that Gee and Geek’s smoothies, despite the dumb names, is pretty tasty, and would leave you to not think about the impending obesity issues that will be upon you after one sip. That being said, the ambience here is great, and the service here is pretty good too. Definitely the place to go to after reading a Murakami book and deciding all things should be sweetened up in order to make the world less depressing than it should be.

This is the first time I heard of a café named closely to the term«geek». My first impression is that they have sort of superheroes like the Avengers or Justice League. When I arrived there with my bro I was right!!! Their juices or rather smoothies was named after the Justice League superheroes! At that time, I was a little full so I wanted to try the Coffee instead of the juices and smoothies. The coffee is not bad though. I heard the highlight or signature dish of the café is their homemade bacon dish. Not just theor savoury dishes are good, theor desserts equally deserve the credits as well! In the brightest day, in blackest night, no café shall escape my sight. Let those who worship coffee’s taste, beware my power, Gee and Geek’s light!

Saturday mornings is always the time where I will bring my «setengah saya» to slightly unique/special places for breakfast/brunch, this week we managed to discover this fairly new café located in the hidden part of Taman Bahagia(Very near to Tmn Bahagia LRT station) thru one of the most effective channel of marketing via Social Media. In my opinion, Gee & Geek café is designed with minimalist/contemporary/vintage kind of theme, which I believe to be the current trend. On my first visit to Gee & Geek, I ordered myself a Geek’s Super Sandwich(Yeah it’s kind of Super Cheesy!) and a cup of latte which only cost an additional RM5 with any Brunch dishes(Current promotion). I prefer my food simple and nice, and that is the reason I have a strong liking to their Super Sandwich. Their coffee on the other hand has a strong coffee liquor taste to it(Somewhat similar to Standing Theory), which I’m still fine with but I prefer richer chocolate-y taste beans like Coffea Coffee’s Maestro beans. Generally, I think they have a great theme and business going on with the great balance of quality and pricing(quite affordable), and I highly recommend this café!

Ahhhh. I miss cafes. Haven’t been to any for almost 2 weeks! Decided to try this one out after seeing them floating in my newsfeed. Saw their current promotions for brunch and tea time where you order any food from the brunch menu, with an additional RM5 for any drinks. The brunch promotion is from 11am to 3pm daily. Or if you’re not into something heavy, they have another promotion where you can order any cake with another RM5 for any drinks from 3pm to 6pm daily as well! To me, the most tempting part wasn’t the promotion. It was the picture of the creamy pasta with poach egg and bacon. *drools* This cafes serves a variety of coffees and juices(superheroes juices) for drinks. They serve brunch, sides, mains and desserts if you’re looking for something to chew! Their menu is quite extensive for a café as they serve salads, sandwiches, pastas, fish and chips, burgers, cakes and many more(come see it yourself!). Oh, and following the current GST trend, they claimed that they won’t be charging their customers GST by displaying«We Pay For Your GST». For those who are GST sensitive, this sounds like a great news right? Well, another reason to drop by for a cuppa coffee /juice or some food. :D They have nice and cozy indoor seating and outdoor seating(for those who smoke). p/s: they use imported Australian(Farm Best) milk for their milk based coffee.

Good food + Great service Gee and Geek has an extensive list of things that are catered to gastronomically satisfy you, everything from pasta’s to pork burgers. They also serve homemade bacon. Yes, you read it right! HOMEMADEBACON! I had their deconstructed cheesecake, the presentation was superb! Their drinks menu was comprehensive, everything from coffee to fresh juice. They also had smoothies(named after superheroes). I’d recommend the«Wonderwoman» it was wonderful: p Their service is unparalleled to most of the cafes I’ve been to. Service with a smile, always! Look out for Ivan and Issac, they will move mountains for you. They even have handphone charges available in their wall sockets for customers.
