This was probably the first time that I have visited this lovely café that is situated in Empire Damansara. I was here recently to meet up with a new friend as well with my other half. My first impression of Cat in The Box café was that it gives me a good sense of feeling when I went into the café, it feels homely and cozy, nothing too mainstream and commercial. It kinda feels like great place to hide from the bustling city life. While taking a look around the café, I noticed that they even have some simple jewellery and accessories for sale. Now let’s move on to their food & beverages, their coffee is really well crafted and made to my liking, it’s not too strong nor light, it’s just nice to my liking. Other than that they are probably one of the more creative cafes that features their infamous 3D coffee art of cats on your cuppa. This is definitely a must visit café in Empire Damansara, and don’t forget to pay them a visit!

Located on the 2nd floor of Empire Damansara this café is built around the stone walls of the heritage lane. As soon as you step into the café the aroma of their specialty coffee bean roast fills the air. Their signature cold pressed coffee is very good and is ALWAYS consistent. Cat in the box provides their customers with many choices of dairy that they can add to their coffee. Their delicious cakes(RM8 – 10) are always good and delectable. Their best selling cake which is the peanut butter nutella sells pretty quickly so be sure to grab a slice while you can! The interior is decorated with pictures of cats and the rustic wooden furniture gives it a very homely feel. This is my go-to spot when I need to get some work done, because this café is located at a peaceful place with many trees surrounding it. This place doesn’t really have many seats so you’ll have to queue for a place to sit if there is a full crowd. I also found a hidden gem on top of their roof. Which is a little shisha joint called Pyros Shisha, the space isn’t big but they create amazing flavors for their shisha. For those smokers who love to just chill and hang out, this is a place for you guys to be! The view is also stunning. Pyros Shisha opens at night from Friday to Sunday. Empire Damansara is still quite a new building and the underground parking spaces are still in renovation but cars can be parked there. Parking is quite easy to find; like I said, it’s a new building.

Cat In the Box is possibly the only café in town that really misleads you into thinking that it is more of an accessories shop than anything. Ambience-wise, the café itself is rustic in its décor, and extremely clean despite the artist’s respite. Their drinks are known for their near to non-acidity, and their cup of latte is extremely tasty to the mouth, with their froth extremely deadly to the taste buds, in a good way of course. Their drinks are renowned to be tasty, so I guess that makes things a lot better. In fact, a lot, a lot better. Despite the name of course; the name is Hasbro-worthy, and that, my friends, is just a one way trip to the tin can.

This is a beautiful café, brilliant for photography, with a warm, woodsy interior that’s soaked in sunshine during the daytime. Soothingly spacious & brimming with character, with lots of corners to explore & enjoy, plus a spiral staircase that leads to a rooftop that’s expected to eventually house Cat In The Box’s barbecue section. Beside the amazing drinks(coffee & tea) and the delicious deserts, they have the perfect LunchBox Offer: 1LUNCHBOX + 1COFFEE/TEA + 1MINIDESSERTBITE = RM25(Guilt-free!) This offer is incredible. The food is very good and healthy. Don’t skip Cat In The Box’s signature cold brew, which takes 24 hours to prepare with East Timor beans. P.S You can purchase a ceramic mug for RM25, &RM5 goes to Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better organisation.

With a name like Cat in the Box and a quirky logo, you know this café is gonna be a fun place. Indeed, it’s laid back, country-styled interior makes the place so inspiring and conducive to creativity that it has quite the reputation as an artists and writers’ hangout. In fact, this is often encouraged by the staff posting pictures of artists at work on the Cat in the Box social media accounts. I can’t resist snapping away with my camera whenever I drop by. This is a place I can sit and write or sketch for hours on end, accompanied by good cup of coffee and something to munch. You may come for the good coffee(which is fantastic stuff, by the way), but you’ll want to stay for the ambiance. Besides, they do offer scrumptious and healthy lunch sets too, which are frequently sold out by the end of the day. For non-caffeine cats(as they like to call it), there are cold-press fruit juices available, too. The café is also a firm supporter of animal shelters, Dogs Deserve Better(MDDB) and Save a Stray(SAS). For a small donation, you can pick up a postcard with a photo of cute animals. Donate over RM50, and you’ll get a cup of coffee on the house.

Came to this café to meet up with a new friend. I think that we made the right choice of coming here because this café is very comfortable to chill at over a cuppa coffee. The place was cozy and I love that they have plenty of natural lights. Their latte was smooth to my liking too. Besides coffees, they serve a variety teas and chocolate drinks. Not to forget, some cakes too! Good news for those who are eating clean because they even serve healthy gourmet lunch boxes set(lunch box that comes with a cuppa coffee or tea and a mini dessert supplied by ‘Dah Makan?’) and cold pressed juices. Oh and they have a roof top area where you can have your coffee up there but with terms and conditions which is to ‘Keep the place clean!’ and ‘self service’. Well, not that hard to follow right? Overall, I find that this café is worth visiting and will definitely come back again.

The main reason that Cat in The Box is one of the places that Joe and I love to hang out, is because they serve really good coffee. Unlike some of the cafes, they only carry one type of bean — East Timor. They freshly roast and grind their beans locally, and you can really taste the heart and soul they have poured into every cup of coffee they served. They were used to operate in Jaya One, but now they have moved to Empire Damansara. Personally, I prefer their new location. The place is brighter and you now have the choice to go up and enjoy your coffee at their balcony upstairs. At the moment they do not serve any main courses apart from sandwiches and pies. I think it would be a good idea if they start serving some light bites, instead of main courses.
