Truth be told, I love this place for nothing else but its nasi lemak stall. It’s hard to find delicious triangle, banana leaf-wrapped nasi lemak around a big city. Plus, Hartamas is not an area with a lot of cheap eats available. So, to find a small hawker centre where one can have a nice meal for under RM10 is a blessing. The nasi lemak at Warung Aji-Don Alley has the most authentic and tasty sambal, close to the ones I grew up on in Alor Setar, Kedah. Besides nasi lemak, you can have a lot of your Malaysian favourites here; mee goreng, kuey teow goreng, cucur udang, leko and pisang goreng. What I really like about this place is their well-maintained cleanliness. Each time I have been there, never once did I see a single fly buzzing around the tables and food. The tables are also always kept clean, and sheltered from the rain and sun under the awnings.

Don’s Warong, one of the outstanding restaurants located at Plaza Damas. It serves local and western food. The signature of Don’s Warong is its Johor style of nasi lemak. However, when we dined there, we didn’t order that. It is a corner shop, and it is open space. It wasn’t hot since we went there at night. But no doubt, mosquitoes were a lot. So, perhaps you will need to apply mosquitoes repellent or sit at some brighter place. The crews were very attentive, although it was crowded when we went there, they managed to serve us very well. And they took our order very fast so that it was delivered the soonest. I ordered sweet and sour chicken chop; a combination of local eating style and western food. The sauce was pour on the chicken chop. I though the crispy layer would not be crunchy because of that. Guess what? I was wrong. It was still crunchy and not too oily. The sauce was slightly spicy, in my view; still, my taste buds accepted in. All in all, I enjoyed my dinner at Don’s Warong. Told by a friend, Don’s Warong is family’s business. They have different restaurant at Klang Valley. I shall try all out, and give a review too!

Aji-don is a pretty famous go-to place for hartamas residents and taylor’s college kids. Some of the well known dishes in the place are the chicken rice, tauhu baker, rojak buah and kuey teow goreng. The highlight of this place is the fact that it is halal and of its cheap prices that makes it the perfect college students who are in a budget. The average price of the chicken rice would be like RM5. The downfall of the place is that it gets pretty packed at lunch time and it closes pretty early. Sometimes, food would sell out as well. If you’re in a budget, do drop by!

An alley in essence, Aji Don is a popular destination in the Hartamas region. Known for their hawker stall style dishes, served in quaint park benches. It has a simplistic setting in a posh area with great reasonable prices. My absolute favorite dish here is their Penang seafood Char Kuey Teow. Made in the traditional hawker style way in Penang, you can never go wrong with this addictive dish. If you’re anything like me, spicy is the way to go and one is never enough. They also have the best Tahu Bakar in town. I’ve tried this dish in many other places and none of them compare to the one here. Other than the wholesome ambience, this hawker style restaurant’s unlike most. It has top-notch cleanliness. The payment method is immediate. Once you receive your food, you immediately pay your server. I would advise you have enough change ready. Aji Don Alley is a simple but unique hawker style type restaurant. The variety of food that is served here will surely be able to fulfill any craving you’ve got. It’s the perfect spot to have a casual meet and greet whilst enjoying their gigantic mugs of beverages. I can promise you won’t just eat here once.
