Victoria Station is known for their steaks and it has been around for ages. Ive been coming here ever since i was a little girl and it never disappoints. The quality of the steak is just fantastic, its juicy and tender and is always cooked to perfection with a juicy pink centre! Having the juicy pink centre is a must when it comes to eating steak. For desserts, you just ought to give their sticky date pudding a go. The warm custard drizzled over it is just to die for. My grandfather loves coming here and we’ll always take him here when he visits us in Kuala Lumpur. The ambiance of the place is a little old school, which gives the dining experience a little different. Parking can be a little crazy, but thank god for its jockey service!

This place has always been a favourite in our family when it comes to celebrating birthdays and such. It’s safe to say that we would visit to this about 5 or 6 times in a year. And let me tell you this, it never gets old. The reason we never seem to get tired of this place is because my dad had brought us here as children and during that time, it wasn’t as often because the prices were a bit too expensive for us then, so we would cherish this place every so often when we get the chance. That excitement we feel is just as real and palpable as grownups as when we were children. Over the years, I’ve tried most of the beef cuts and cooking style that they have there. We would also always have fresh oysters and I do remember one particular year during my birthday that I had ordered the lobster. Yes, this was when I learnt that I am my parent’s favorite child because none of my other siblings have ever had their lobster there before. The last time I was there was last March, it was just me, my parents and a friend of mine. My parents were doing some furniture shopping in KL(they live in Nilai) and we decided to have dinner there. The Matradee, who had worked there for more than 12 years knew us and would always try to get us the best table. That night, my dad had the sizzling steak, I had some oysters and a rib eye, my friend had a sirloin and my mom had mushroom soup(she had an upset stomach that night and didn’t want to chance on it getting worse.) I could taste the sweetness of the fresh meat and we all took bites off of each other’s plates. Its safe to say that everything on our table was delicious. Our food arrived promptly, the service is remarkable as usual and the food was ridiculously delicious and fresh! I would recommend this place on any day, to anyone and for any meal that you plan to have on that day. It really is a special place.

Probably the oldest steakhouse in town. My dad been bringing me here since I was just a little child and now I do go back on rare occasions. You really can’t expect anything new or unconventional here, you just come here for some good ol classic steaks. What I like most about many restaurants is their impeccable service and Victoria Station still maintains that standard after so long. The interior design is like of a station theme, with certain areas representing different types of food like the Seafood Station and the BBQ Station. The most obvious choice of meal would be the steak, they have many choices for you to choose from. You can always ask for their best seller and recommended, which they will glady suggest. After ordering, buns and butter are served as appetizers which never gets old. I love places that do this. You can ask for more buns with it’s not enough, but keep in mind not to get too full on appetizers as you have to enjoy your steak later. Located in Medan Damansara and just on the exit of the highway, the parking here can be tough. So you have to either make circles, park in the housing area behind, or just opt for the valet which will make your evening less chaotic.

One of those places you go when you crave steak and is affordable. I love the escargot there, the cheese sauce is just delicious and goes well together. I’ve usually order the minute steak or surf and turf both are quite good. Do not try the flaming alaska desert! Had a bad tummy ache afterwards. The only thing is the interior, not in love with it but it goes for that old school western theme. Do not like the booths they are hard to get out from. The lighting is atrocious, not selfie taking lighting.

i would say that this is oldest steakhouse and service is still absolute the same and the bun with butter appetizer never gets old. If you are not sure where to eat steak just head to Victoria Station and they will recommend you whether you like rib eye, steak and many more. Don’t be shy when it comes to choosing your steak, rare, medium rare or perfectly cook steak? The waiter will explain to you. I recommend you come to this branch as there place like you are dining and sitting on a train which is cool! bare in mind that the lighting there is quite dim.

Victoria Station is and will always be a blueprint to the booming Western food bistros or restaurants in Malaysia back in the late 90’s. Since then, Victoria Station has managed to withstand the test of time, and recently celebrated its 25th anniversary since the beginning of its venture in the Malaysian food industry. Oh, how the mighty hath fallen. Victoria Station is what The Fray will want to achieve in their music career. Every year(or every album, for that matter), they manage to create some new menu items, and always promote it as ‘New’. However, it is a sham, for it is because the ‘new’ menu items are most probably just repackaged menu sets or the same steak, but with a much duller sauce. The 2nd floor is perfect to bring any dates, and the environment is exceptionally good to get some jiggly wiggly after you send your date back. It seemed very apparent that the food is good, but is it good enough for it to stay relevant in this ever changing food industry? No. Not yet. Perhaps time will tell, but time does not wait for those who linger in the past.
